Weekly Weigh In week of 2/18/08
Julie,
Losing a beloved pet is one of the hardest things in life. We had Yorkies for years and years and even brought four back from Europe after taking one over! Our favorite Yorkie, Bernie, had heart disease and we had to put him down at 15. It was the hardest thing we've had to do and we still remember the date. We had to take him to the Emergency Vet clinic in the middle of the night. That was in June of 2001. Within the space of 3 years, we lost all of those Yorkies to age related diseases and the cat we brought back as well. We still have our memories and pictures and we talk about Bernie and the others often. I'm so sorry for your loss. What was her name?
CeCe
Britt,
I'm glad you were able to get in a couple of extra hours of sleep and still get to the gym! It was RAINING here yesterday too but finally cleared up for a wonderful, warm afternoon. The dogs were able to get to the Bark Park. I went to the gym early even though my husband was off (I didn't have a choice since I was working!) then my husband met me at Panera for breakfast. We like their souffles but I know they have too many carbs!!! At least they aren't huge and my husband can eat part of it! After that, we shopped then later I had a haircut appointment. So, I stayed busy.
On the weight front, it's the same but I'm still battling the munchies. My Beck book is sitting here on my desk and hasn't been picked up in a few days. Bad, CeCe!
I'm probably going to have an upper body lift the week of 17 March. I'm making arrangments to take off work and work with my surgeon and husbands schedules. Plus, I really want to be ready for SUMMER! I don't know about a bikini for me, Britt (congrats, by the way! GO PAUL!), but I want to wear a great swimsuit without covering up my arms!!! I also have 2 consultations set up with plastic surgeons for face lifts. If it's possible and we still have any money left (!), I would prefer to have the face lift about 3 or 4 weeks after the upper body work so I can recover from both at the same time and get back to work. My husband doesn't think it's a good idea but if I don't get too anemic and I don't have complications and, of course, if the surgeons think it's possible, I'd like to get it DONE!
Begining weight: 245.25
Last Week: 130.25
This Week: 130.75 and 131
Up a PINCH!
BMI: 22.4 or 22.5
Total Weight Loss: 114-115
Goals this week: Keep exercising and making better food choices - graze protein rich since I can't seem to stop grazing!!!

Ohhhhh I love Panera bread! YUMMO!
MY BECK BOOK IS SITTING ON MY SHELF TOO ????????
Wow - an upper body life - AND a face lift ... you are amazing! I think you just may b in a bikini - or tankini
I am excited to get my bikini - still in a little disbelief - WOW!
I think weight fluctuation is *normal* I do not have a problem (anymore* when my scale creeps up 2-3 pounds *as long as I have been eating RIGHT* - if I have not eaten GOOD - then ... I am in a LUNATIC aboout it. I used to flip out any time I saw the scle up ... now I KNOW its *normal* for my weight to fluctuate a bit.
hugs,
Britt
What is the deal with this Beck book, mine too is sitting gathering dust I put it on my lap last night and then read my novel instead. I really like the book and think she has a lot of wisdom and I really think this could help me so why can't I commit to reading it. I'm really thinking about reading the whole book and then starting over, I don't do segmented very well.
Deb
Deb,
I think we are subconsciously avoiding the Beck book because, like a mother's advice, we know it makes sense and we "should" be following it but like rebellious children, we don't want to be "told" what and how to do it! Oh, I don't know!! I have my book right here, right now and have been reading my little cards this morning. The book makes perfect sense and sounds like it should be easy to follow but yesterday's "call of the food" was very powerful and all thoughts of the Beck book or even just common post-WLS sense wasn't enough to pull me back from the brink because I wouldn't even listen to my inner voice. Actually, there were 2 inner voices and the instant gratification one won!
CeCe
Guilty as charged! Add my name to the list of people on the board that got the book and has not worked it. As a matter of fact, I bought the book many months ago and haven't taken the time to even read the first chapter! I think we should start a "book club" of sorts and take it chapter by chapter. Anyone else think it would work? Are any of you willing to go back to the beginning and start over with the rest of us? We can even give time for others to purchase the book/workbook before we begin if anyone is interested. We can have our own Nov'06 Beck Diet Book Club. Just like Oprah does!
What do you think?

I'm late in posting but here go my stat's:
Starting weight 273
Last week = 119
This week = 119
Loss this week = 0
Total loss = 154 (was 157)

I need a REAL KICK in the rear! I can't seem to stay away from the carbs. I start out saying I am going to do better and seem to allow myself to fail before each day is over!
