I'm just sitting here looking at my mangled hand. I want to landscape and garden today and can't. I would like to clean my house, but can't. Can't shop..can't cook...can't exercise..can't do anything useful. I'm sick of sitting on my butt! My husband is gone---who knows when he can fly back home for a quick visit. Whaaaaa--poor me!
OK, I feel better now. Just had to get that out of my system.

I feel for you... It is one thing when you choose to sit on your butt and do nothing, but when you HAVE to sit on your butt and do nothing it is the worst... That is always when you want to do the most things and can't.... I wish there were something I could do to help you out, just know that I will be joining you today and sitting on my butt as much as I can... LOL... I had a house full of kids yesterday that I was running after, cooking for and baking for.... I am exhausted and want to just veg out today.... Take care and just get yourself better... you will be healed before you know it and back to doing all your stuff.... Hopefully hubby will get a chance to come back and see you soon...
HUGS to you,
Shawn M.

Thanks for that dose of reality! I forgot what it was like to take care of kids and all of the extra chores that comes with having a family at home!
I defintely feel better about my quiet weekend now!

Wanda,
I know I will cringe reading your reply but if you are able to type without pain, I'd like to hear exactly what happened and what the injury is. How long will you be out of commission? I'm so sorry you are sitting home lonely and I know Randy would much rather be there with you! I'll bet he is so worn out!

CeCe, I can type with my right hand and left thumb. I'm slow, but I get it done. I have to proof read carefully though!
It's hard to say exactly what happened. I was holding the hedge trimmers with my right hand. It was on with the blades moving. It started to slip and I tried to grab it with my left hand and stuck my fingers in the blades. Stupid!
To answer your question about the injury...you know how the blades of a hedge trimmer are jagged? To cut through limbs and twigs the jagged blades move forward and backward until the branches or limbs are sawed off? Now picture my fingers as the branch. Jagged cuts caused the flesh to mushroom out. It's not like a clean slice with a knife. I complain about the stitch job of the ER doctor but I didn't give him much to work with.
OUCH!!! No more hedge trimmers for you! I cringed just reading that so I cannot imagine going through it. It's Tuesday now, did you get the stitches out? I've been bummed out about my wrist being painful after my wrist surgery and my cortisone shot last week but knowing what you are going through sure makes my situation pale in comparison. I hope your PS is totally correct and all the nerves regenerate in your fingers. Speaking of nerve regeneration, are your nerves in your tummy back to normal yet? I'm still pretty numb from the LBL but I am noticing more and more feeling.

Hey CeCe, sorry your wrist is still giving you trouble. I did not get my stitches out today. The director of nurses was going to take them out for me, but she decided to have our medical director do it tomorrow instead. I think she doesn't want to hurt me since they are still sore.
Yes..I'm still numb from the tummy tuck. Isn't that weird that we still are? I'm sure enjoying not having to deak with that extra skin though. I wish I had my back side done like you did!

There's my little friend Christy! Where have you been, girl?! I miss you when you are gone. How is everything in your life?
To answer your questions...I will have the stitches taken out on Tuesday if all goes well. I have a feeling I will feel much more normal after that. I do have pain medication, but I didn't have much time to take it. The next morning I was the designated driver for Randy's GI scope. He was under anesthesia for the procedure so he couldn't drive. I had to wait in the waiting room for hours with my hand throbbing. Then I had an unemployment hearing for a former employee...then I had a budget meeting with my boss...and on and on. I didn't have time to not have my wits about me. At this point I don't have pain until I forget and use my hand. I do that all the time! I'm fine, really. I just felt a little whiney yesterday morning.
Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch!
Wanda
Sorry Wanda, I know I have been MIA.... We are just so happy right now. Enjoying our new house, town, my new job and life..... I read the post's, I just havent been posting...... Never enough time to do what I need to do, much less what I want. Plus, with the new job, I havent got comfortable with using the internet there yet. I love it though...... Take care and know I am thinking of you....
Big HUGS,
Christy
