So here it is Monday again and I know many of us are getting back on track after the holidays. So, what's your plan for the week? Are you scheduling time for exercise? What are you going to do? What if something pops up? Have any contingency plans? And, what are your eating goals this week? Since I teach, I'm at the gym by 7:45 several days week. We worked hard today too. We do a short cardio warm up and stretching before the weights and we did full body strength training today including squats/shoulder presses with knee raises, then a 3 part move that is a wide squat, a lunge back and a curtsy lunge. We did 12 of those on each side. We then did Romanian dead lifts, forearm curls, front raises, side raises, plie squats with side raises, bicep curls, triceps, push ups, worked the back, did several sets of planks, worked abs and then stretched. WHEW! After that, I went to another gym where I'm a member. I had planned on doing a class but the class I wanted wasn't on the schedule so i got on the Elliptical and then the Stair Climber (the one like an escalator). So, I've had good strength training and cardio! My exercise plan this week is to exercise at the gym Monday through Friday and get in some other activity for the weekend. Tomorrow I will do more cardio and possibly do a Body Pump class. Wednesday I'll teach and do cardio - maybe a Spinning class. Thursday - cardio and abs. Friday - teach Strength Training and do cardio. Eating plan - KEEP TRACK of protein, fat, carbs and calories! Plan meals and snacks ahead of time! Yesterday I cooked a huge pot of healthy soup and some chicken salad with low fat mayo. I have some skinless chicken breasts ready to cook tomorrow and, of course, the soup will last for days! I started the day with my cottage cheese, protein powder and 1/2 pear. I'm drinking my fluid too! A few days of paying close attention to my food intake will help me end my snacking/grazing addiction! Ok, there are people who haven't posted in the last few days! Let's hear from you! Trudy, how's the recovery going? When do you go back to work? Have you started buying clothes? There are some great sales here! I'm trying to stay away!!! I've bought SO much! Shawn, are you feeling better now? Hope so! Come on, everyone! Let's get this board BUSY again! It's too easy to stay away when you're busy, stressed or not doing too well so take time to check in. Take time to make a plan, set some goals and work that plan! We are worth it! CeCe

Thanks for the kick in the butt we all need it. My plans for the week are Aqua Jogging 3 times this week and doing a weight training segment on my Prevention DVD 3 times this week. I'm also doing the knee strengthening segment 3 times this week, I will also attempt to do 2-30 minute sessions on the elliptical at work. I'm going to make a pot of soup also. I have 2 containers of chili in the freezer so I'm going to do one of those for lunch tomorrow. I'm really working on no night time snacking. Deb

Thanks for asking about me CeCe!!! You are so sweet and thoughtful.... I am finally feeling better... I had a bacterial infection in my intestines. Once I got some antibiotics in me I started feeling better... I still have about a days worth of pills to take, but I think I am back to 100%. Still a bit tired, but I have been able to eat for the past week now... and I have maintained my weight... I was really worried that I would gain back the weight I lost from being sick... So that is my goal for the week... just to maintain and try and eat as good as the money situation will allow.... I did get my treadmill set back up and I have been on it twice since getting over being sick..... My other goal is to get on it at least 4 times a week.... Thanks again for caring so much.... HUGs, Shawn M.

Shawn, Glad you are feeling better and congrats on not regaining after being sick! Get some good bacteria back into those intestines so you can fight any bad bugs! Start wearing that treadmill out again! Do you have any plans of returning to work right now or are you goinig to spend more time taking good care of yourself first? CeCe

I am still not planning on going back to work anytime soon. Financially we need me to, but mentally I just can't handle it right now. I need to take care of me. They are still tweaking my meds and I think we may be headed in the right direction finally. I didn't help being so sick for so long, but I think I am on the right track. I just need to get off my butt and clean the house now... it has gone to pot between the depression and then being sick, so there is a lot to do. I just can't seem to get started.... Hopefully by next week I will be feeling like getting something done... I did get on the treadmill again today, so at least I am doing that much for now.... Thanks again for your concern for me.... I feel so loved..... ((((((CeCe))))))) HUgs, Shawn M.

Shawn, taking care of yourself is more important than any job! Work is overrated!!! When I was suffering from depression, I ended up taking off work twice before finally deciding to just give it up! If it's at all possible, I hope you can take plenty of time to see that the meds are exactly where they need to be and you are in a "good" place before putting any additional responsibility on yourself. If you're anything like me, it's the pressure we put on ourselves that does us in! We expect so much more from ourselves than others would ever expect! I'm glad you got on that treadmill again too! Next time I'm on the treadmill, I'm going to think about you being on yours and stay on an extra 5 minutes or so while we have a "talk!" CeCe

Sounds like you are getting in lots of exercise! I'm going to exercise Monday - Saturday this week. I plan on doing cardio every day and then following the 28-Day Body Shapeover plan by Brad Schoenfeld. I absolutely love that book and it has really motivated me. Yesterday I cooked several servings of parmesan tilapia. OMG--they are fabulous! I had some for lunch today and then couldn't wait to get home to have it for supper too. I'm taking another serving for lunch tomorrow. I also marinated some chicken breasts and will cook them tomorrow. I'll have enough of those for several meals too. I absolutely refuse to eat any carbs after 3pm. I absolutely refuse to snack on crackers or other carbs this week. I am committed to getting in my protein and water. That's my plan. Wanda
