I want to maintain my weight, continue to stay strong and active....and pay off my house! I've been consumed with becoming debt-free. We've got our other debts paid off except the house. It's a lofty goal, but we are going for it!
What about you? What are some goals that you've set? I don't use the word "resolutions" because those never seemed to work in the past.
Wanda
Wanda,
Thanks for posting this! I was all set to write a few things and then decided to think about it and talk to my husband. Of course, like you, I want to maintain my weight loss, work out and get in top shape! I also want to simplify my life and my household. Both of us are pack rats and after visiting my mother over the holidays, I know where I get it. She truly has a hoarding illness since her health has gone downhill and several rooms in her house are so cluttered it is pitiful. She's lived at a couple of assisted living facilities for the past couple of years but she won't give up the house. She drives so she spends the day at her house. She is supposedly getting rid of stuff but she ends up buying more - anything for a bargain. So, I came home with new resolve to get rid of stuff we don't use! We've done that several times in the past few years but I think we need to do it again and again! We both love books and have built in bookshelves as well as wall units that are full of books. We'll never read many of them again so I need to let those go and keep my treasures!!
I also want to stop complaining as much and to stop backseat driving and to stop nagging and...................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More coming!

Now CeCe, I just can't even imagine you nagging. You are the eternal optimist and always so upbeat and pleasant!I know what you mean about things piling up. Both Randy and I have a lot of paperwork in our lives so things tend to get out of hand sometimes. It's a never ending challenge.
Wanda

Sounds like you have great goals and I know that you will accomplish each one!
Wanda
Thanks for the post, Wanda. I have some goals for myself that I would like to accomplish this year (and forever).
1) Pay off my credit card and keep it paid off! That's my problem - every time I pay it off, I end up putting charges back on it within a couple months. Drives me crazy!
2) Keep my weight off.
3) Exercise more often (going for 4-5 times a week)
4) Make time to sit and read with my son every day. He needs to read more and I need to make him read more.
5) Fall in love with someone. I've been looking but I keep getting disappointed after the first hour of meeting someone. Yes, I'm in therapy - there's got to be something wrong with me!
6) Get back to church! I fell off the wagon about 6 months ago and really need/want to go back.
7) Declutter my house/garage/shed. I want to simplify my life.
Hugs to everyone,
Susan

I think you have great goals! You sound like you have your head on straight and are ready to accomplish those things. Susan, I just want to comment on #5. There is nothing wrong with you, girl! Be patient. There is nothing worse than accepting less than your soulmate. Wait for that right one. God will send him when the time is right. Just keep working on your other goals and he will come when you least expect it!
I'm going to get back in church too. I'm starting tomorrow! It's easy to get away from it, but harder to develop the habit of going again.
I'm a Dave Ramsey fan--he is the get-out-debt guy. I listen to him every day on XM radio. He keeps me motivated. Check him out at daveramsey.com.
Wanda
Thanks, Wanda. You always make me feel better! I am being very patient but sometimes it seems like either my expectations are too high or I'm just destined to be alone for the rest of my life. But, like you said, when I least expect it.....
I am a Dave Ramsey fan also! I used to listen to him all the time and I have a couple of his books too. I even have his list on my refrigerator (his snowball effect list).
I don't think I'm going to be out of debt any time soon though. Yesterday I found a car that I want and I think I am going to get it tomorrow. I have a Navigator right now and it has 94k miles on it. Someone at work wants to buy it from me for more than I would get on a trade in so I went looking for something a little smaller and economical. Well, I found it! It's a Mercedes R class and it is so awesome. It's a 2006, 28k miles on it, and all the bells and whistles I want (and then some!). It's a really good price too. I can afford it so I think I'm gonna do it. Yikes!!!
I didn't make it to church this morning and I feel so bad about that. Grrr. I'll try again! But I am going to start reading my bible again. I love reading it and it is so interesting. Instead of waiting until Sunday I might try out a bible study class. Those are so much fun and informative.
Take care, Wanda, and thank you again for your encouragement and kind words.
Hugs,
Susan

Ohhh..the Mercedes sounds nice. I wish you well on it and hope you love it for a good long time.
I love Bible Study classes too. I signed up for one that starts this Wednesday. It was good to be back in church and Sunday School this morning. I've been away too long.
Have a good week!
