OKie dokie here is the scoop..I had my appointment for tommrow on my surgaversary but they called me this am and asked if I could switch..Sooo I jumped in the shower threw my hair up ,grabbed my make-up and out the door I went..40 minute drive and I actually made it with 3 mins to spare. I confessed that I have been slacking BIG time on my vitamins and protein.,that depression is setting in and I feel clueless about it all then mad..It's hard to explain. She put me on b-12 shots, and prenatal vitamins..(chewable,were where these when I was prego yrs ago..huh) My back is beyound killing me and PT is not helping so I need to make another appointment for that.(sry got of the subject..lol) Soooo..they didn't do everything I was told they would do for a 1yr apt. so I was disappointed BIG time.Apparently I've reached my end of loosing..My scale was WAY off from what I thought I was..how sad I was today on this.I REALLY want to loose another 20 pounds but need to get myself in order and then try..If it doesn't go then OK this is where I'll sit. There's probably more to tell but my brain is fried So here's my stats for my one year... Start 270 Today 155.5

Good job on your weight loss! Did you think a year ago that you would reach 155? I didn't think I would. I remember telling the good folks at my doc's office that I would be happy at 165. Now for the scolding...never, never slack on your vitamins and protein. Your health and sense of well-being depends upon it! Take good care of yourself and we will be celebrating our two year anniversaries here next year!

Thanks for the scolding (I seem to need it alot latley)..I know what I am suppose to do but getting myself to do it is a whole other subject.I'm hoping to get out of this rut I am in.I think a big portion plays in missing my family and being bored in this state..grrrrrrrr..Hopefully we will PCS out of here soon. On a GOOD note ...My sister gave me a 1 year gift...She had her baby this am..a little after 8 am...6 lbs 13 oz..20 inches long..Abby is her name..(I wish I was there to gobble her up..I lubs babys..lol)

Naomi, Congrats on losing 114.5 lbs in 1 year! You have to look at the positive. You know you have made good choices along the way to get to where you are now. The B12 and the vitamins may help to kick you back into losing if you take them regularly and exercise. If you want to lose 20 more and your body can handle it, then you will succeed. Take your vitamins and make sure you get your protein. I don't know if you can exercise but if you can add a walk for 10 minutes 3 times a day you may see the scale go down again. Exercise also increases seratonin levels and may help your depression. Like you said, you need to get yourself in order. You may need to consult someone about your depression. Depression can get the better of us and it definately sabotages our eating. If you aren't getting any help, you definately want to consider it. I am sending happy, scale moving vibes your way. Hugs, Valorie

I forgot to add that we share a surgiversary! Tomorrow is mine too. Believe me when I tell you that I am still struggeling with the scale. I have at least 40 more pounds to lose but I am aiming for 70. With the support I get from this board and God willing, I know I can make it to my goal weight. Let us know if we can help you in any way. Valorie

Thanks for the congrats..Imj trying to get back into the routine of doing what I am suppose to..at least taking the shots once a month that is one med that doesn't have to be swallowed..I am really thinking that I just got to the point of saying "I am tired of pill popping"..As far as the exercise..yeah right now Im restricted yet agian on what I can and can not do because of my back..but I do at least walk as much as I can till the pain gets to bad. Consulting someone on my depression..did that..they take it all in the wrong direction then it needs to head..hard to explain..and taking meds for it..well i'm trying not to go that route because I always had one issue after another being on that stuff before..Thanks for the vibes..

Naomi, The 14th is my Sergiversary too!!!!! YOU HAVE DONE VERY WELL! 114.5 lbs is nothing to sneeze at!! Be proud that's one heck of an accomplishment!!! I still have 11 lbs to go and the closer you get the harder it is!!!!! I am sure you are experiencing that too! I take a strength training class sponsored by the Bariatric Program at Fair Oakes hospital in Fairfax, VA where I had my surgery. I am so glad I am taking it!! Do you have anything like that at the hospital that you used? The two personal trainers that teach the class are always giving me tips about how to get off of a plateau and things like that. Please get back to taking your protein and suppliments regularly!!! I have found through my personal trainers and nutritionist and physicians assistant that bumping up the protein intake can help to jumpstart my weightloss again. They also suggested increasing my fluid intake and exercising a bit longer and harder or faster. In particular my one trainer Tuesday said to walk briskly 40 minutes (outside) 4 times a week in place of the other stuff and that should help to jumpstart you as long as the proper eating part goes along with it!! For some reason she says this always works to get weightloss going again. Maybe it's tricking the body by doing something different then what it is used to. For me, I swim 4 days per week and take my class too. I am adding in more walking and increasing my protein. I'm going to try this too, I started last night. Please let me know if you try it too? Increasing my protein usually helps me get off the plateau too! Hope this helps!!! Happy Swrgiversary!!! McLean
