Day Four...

Day 4 did not bring any relief. I still have incredible pain. I'm so swollen and sore. I've gained 11 pounds of fluids in 4 days! The pants that were too big for me prior to surgery couldn't even pass over my thighs! My back still looks like a second butt, my thighs are huge, my waist has gained 6 inches, and OMG---the breasts are about to split open! I have a high pain tolerance, but this surgery is way more than I expected. I think if I didn't have the swelling, the other pain would be ok. Almost all of my pain stems from the swelling. Not everyone swells like this, so don't let my results affect your decision to have ps. I don't think I'm the norm on this one. On the bright side, it's nice to see the breasts in the correct location!

Wanda, you are so funny, taking the wrong meds, instead of your pain meds. I am so very sorry that you are in pain, I know that it can not get worse, but it sure would help if it got better faster. I hope to have ps someday, but at my age it can wait until I get my WLS paid off, years and years from now, unless there is some kind of wind fall that I happen to run into. Wish you the best and fast healing, remember "tomorrow will be better" Chrisy

Chrisy, I thought it was funny too. DH seemed really upset about it. He wants me to stop being so independant. The bottles looked the same and the meds were in generic form so I didn't recognize the names. What makes it so funny is that I work in health care so I should have been more aware!

Hey honey! I wanted to give you some support-you have ALWAYS been so helpful and supportive to me! I am SO SORRY to hear you are in pain. I am sure it is also a bit scary-since it's always so hard to gauge how you will feel after PS. Sounds like you are definitely going through the rough time! I REALLY hope this eases up a bit in the next couple days for you! Until then-I wanted to say I am thinking of you and picturing you feeling WONDERFUL and happy!! Soft Gentle hugs!! Therese

Thanks, Therese! I love your new picture. You are so beautiful! I hesitated to let everyone know how hard this surgery has been for me. I decided that if I knew someone that went through all of this and would still recommend it, I would be feeling more optimistic. So hopefully, I have a good outcome and some of you will have more confidence to have the procedures done. On the bright side it"s 2:30 am and it's been six hours since the last pain med so that's a good sign! I'm still very swollen, but I think it might be a little less than it has been. Thanks for the response. It was good to hear from you. Wanda
