STOMACH PAIN
I had stomach pain in Sept, went to ER and they did Xrays and ultra scan and told me that I had three floating gallstones, and that "I was full of poop" well I knew the later was not true, take my softners as I should and a mix that one of the ladies at our support meetings gave to me and it works. Anyway had another stomach attack on the 30th and went to MY own doctor and he said it was my gallbladder and we have to have it taken out, so that my pain does not sneak upon me again at work, go to the surgeon on tues and will find out then. The only thing that gets me is that my pain is on the left side of my stomach and goes around the left side of my back instead of the right side where your gallbladder is suppose to be, all I know "no fun hun"

Don't you hate it when you get two conflicting diagnoses? I'm sorry that you are looking at gallbladder surgery. It seems to be very common after wls. Let us know what happens Tuesday. Good luck!

Thank you Judy, for your reply. So very glad that I am not the only different person in the world that has the pain from gallbladder on the wrong side, and my doctor said that the pain could be ALL over and around your back. I go in Tues to see the surgeon and will know more when they will take it out they. I feel great at the moment and hope to continue that, but my dr said that it will be back.

Hi Christine,
I am so sorry that you are going thru this. Just be glad to know that you will find some relief.
I had a similar situation happen, but mine occurred only 4 weeks after WLS. I have a 1" gallstone in my gallbladder that was discovered before I had WLS. One Monday morning, actually 4 weeks into my recovery from WLS, I started having this dull pain on my right side. Within 4 hours, it got so bad, I was doubled over in pain. My daughter, poor thing, had to drive me 2 hours to my surgeon's office (he insisted on doing the gallbladder surgery himself) in severe, excruciating pain! He knew right away it was my gallbladder and scheduled me for an emergency cholecystectomy!! He and his wife do WLS surgeries together and she recommended a CT scan just to be sure. Well, lo and behold, it wasn't my gallbladder, but a kidney stone!!!! They would have taken my GB out and I would still have had the pains!!! Thank God she asked for the CT!!!
The point of my story is, I had kidney stone attacks before (3 to be exact) and they were ALWAYS on my left side. So when this attack came on (which was different that the other 3), the dr assumed it was my GB. So have they ruled out a kidney stone? Because your symptoms sound identical to my previous kidney stone attacks!!
Just want you to know that you will be in my prayers! Good luck to you!!
