...for my body as I now know it! OMG! The question is what will I end up with? Some of the before and after pics are not so encouraging. Please pray fpr me on Tuesday morning. I don't know what I will do if I come out with Frankenboobs or a lumpy tummy with crooked, jagged scars. And have you seen some of those belly buttons the size of the Grand Canyon? The doc gave me a prescription for 5 valiums that I should start taking on Monday. I guess freaking out is the norm. I may have to dip into that supply today! DH may need one too!

Wanda, I think I would worry about you if your were not freaking out! You are going through all the emotions that are to be expected. If you remember back to November of last year I bet you had these same feelings and concernes about the WLS. You will be fine. And of course we will all be saying prayers for you on Tuesday. We are almost as anxious to see your results as you are. Well, for different reasons of course. We want to know how We will look afterwards. Stay calm today and Monday. Do some extra walking or exercise to help the anxiety. Or just veg out and take a nice Sunday nap. Yeah, I can really see you doing that! Hugs, Valorie

For some strange reason, wls did not make me nervous. At least not like this. I'm not sure why. I've got a little diversion planned for this afternoon. It's time for our annual Cooter festival! Now how many people can say that? Wanda

I'll have to send you one of those "Would you like to pet my Cooter" T-shirts. A Cooter is a turtle. We even have a little lake called Cooter pond. I guess every town has to be known for something...

Wanda, I, too, am freaking out more about my PS than I ever did about WLS! My surgery is 2 weeks from tomorrow (Monday) and I'm so hoping I will have had many reports from you before I have mine. You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers over the next few days and weeks. I so dread the first couple of weeks post PS, don't you? Have you rented one of those chair lifting recliners? I'll have a compression garment on when I come out of surgery but have you bought another for when you are washing that one? If so, which one? Did you get your vitamin situation straightened out? The info I was mailed told me to double up on my multi-vitamins and what medications to avoid but I still have questions about a couple of things. I plan on calling the coordinator tomorrow. I even had my husband take some "before" pictures today. I never thought I'd allow him to see the worst side(s) of me in daylight posing like that! I don't think I'll EVER show them to anyone but I want to be able to compare for myself. I wish I were getting the upper body done too but I don't see how you are going to get up and down being sore above and below!!!! If you're like me, you are excited and scared at the same time! Please, please, please give us an update the second you can! I'm so hoping it is all a breeze but I know that having the implants under the muscle makes the BA tougher. That's probably the pain you will notice the most. I happened to talk to a friend a few weeks ago the evening of her BL/BA and she was hurting but by the next day she was much, much better. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! What other prescriptions did he give you for pain afterwards? CeCe

IThank you for your thoughts and prayers, Cece. You packed a lot of questions in that post. Let me try to unpack those for you: Compression garment: The docs instructions did not address a compression garment. I did read that I would be sent home with a binder. I tried to reach the office nurse to see about purchasing a second binder so that the first one could be laundered. Still no call back on that one. SHE REALLY TICKS ME OFF! It took 10 days to get to speak with her about the vitamins! Vitamins: It was just as I thought. They tell people no vitamins because they didn't want to take the time to determine which ones I could take, and which ones I shouldn't take. I stopped taking the Omega 3 (fish oil) because I knew it could cause bleeding. I knew vitamin E had the same effect but my multivitamin only had 30 units so I kept taking that, calcium, vitamin C, and B-complex. When I finally got to speak with her, she agreed that was ok. Recliner: I did not even think about renting a rising recliner chair. I'm not sure if my small town has any place to rent such a thing. I do have a recliner that I will use though. My husband and I were talking about that. I won't even be able to move the handle or get out of it by myself! Meds: I guess they aren't use to patients like us because the antibiotic and the vicodin were HUGE! They would have been stuck in my stoma. I had them re-order in the liquid form. I had to pay for them all over again but at least I'll be able to take them. In addition to that I was ordered a muscle relaxer, and nasuea medication. I was ordered 5 valiums to calm me the day before and the morning of surgery. I took one yesterday and it kicked my butt! I felt stoned and had to go to sleep. Next time I'll try a half one! I'm worried about straining abdominal muscles because of constipation. I'm always constipated no matter what I take! I do have a fear of that. Let me know if you have any questions. I have to be there at 7am. I believe the surgery is at 9am. I'll be posting a lot since I will be sitting around with nothing to do for two weeks!
