Weekly Weigh In week of 10/22
Valerie,
I'm glad you are enjoying working out with the trainer! You are learning lots to keep you on track even if you don't continue the sessions for months on end! That can get expensive but some trainers will trainer 2 people at a time. You and a buddy could get the benefits and split the cost. Also, I wanted to congratulate you on posting your eating plans each and every day. I seem to be too lazy to get online at night and do mine! I'm still thinking your new gym sessions and change in the weights you are doing is adding muscle and just isn't showing up on the scale. Hey, a pound is a big loss for me!!! I'll take it if you don't want it!!! Just teasing!

Welcome back Britt, glad to hear you had a good time. I had a bad week last week exercising and eating. I've already done 15 minutes on the elliptical this morning so things are looking up this week already. I'm really noticing some bad eating habits creeping in and I'm afraid that I'm going to revert to my old ways. I have a support group meeting tonight so I hope that is going to help I'm going to talk to the psychologist that runs that to see if she thinks I should go to some counseling.
Starting weight 298.5
Last week = 164.4
This week = 162.5
Loss this week = 1.9
Total loss = 136.0
Current BMI = 29.7
Valorie-I seriously think that we are lagging a week because I do not deserve my loss this week so we will see what happens next week.
My goals for the week are exercise at least 5 times and stop snacking at night.
Everyone have a fabulous week.
Deb
Deb,
The further out we get, the harder it gets to avoid temptations! I also notice I feel VERY, VERY guilty when I eat something that I feel is "bad" for me. For instance, the other day we went for coffee and my husband ordered a pumpkin bagel. I don't eat bagels anymore but I wanted a taste of the pumpkin bagel. I ate 1/4 of his bagel and I was feeling like a total failure until I turned my negative thinking around and realized the eating ONLY 1/4 bagel was a VICTORY, not a failure! In the past, I would have eaten a whole bagel and maybe even 1 and 1/2! However, I can't rationalize either. I know that if I eat too many starchy carbs, I just want MORE - more of everything. This is a very scary time for all of us right now and whenever we fear that the old habits are coming back, we do have to stop and analyze it. If you're like me, you eat for all sorts of reasons - emotional, boredom, stress, etc. Try to journal or write about it here and figure out what's going on with you right now. When you're tempted, stop and try to ask yourself why you want something at that time. Most of the time I'm wanting something, I'm not hungry at all. Oh, boy, this isn't always easy, is it?! By the way, congrats on the very nice loss this week!

Hey Deb,
Sometimes the scale doesn't tell the whole tale. It is funny how some weeks you know you did the right thing but the scale doesn't show it. Then a week comes along where you know you didn't do the right thing but the scale shows a loss.....Go Figure?
Anyway, today is a fresh start to a new low weight on that scale. I can feel it for both of us!
Hugs,
Valorie
Hello Nov. buddies:
I am 11 months out TODAY
I had a great week also. I did a "mud walk" for those who don't know ...it's about a mile long hike thru waist deep mud. It was nasty, smelly & very gross..BUT I MADE IT.
All 5th grades do this for a field trip around here, mostly dad's did this, I was the only mom in my son's class who did this...so I was a "way cool mom"
Anyway things are looking up for me, I Love the Fall !!!!
Starting weight 259
Last week = 149
This week = 147
Loss this week =2
Total loss = 112
Current BMI = 25.2...soooo close to normal
Just wanted to mention I found out where some of the weight is that I lost... My hubby found it.. It has gained 40 pounds since my surgery.
Julie,
Happy 11 months!!! Wow, TWO POUNDS! None of that mud stuck on you, did it? That mud walk sounds CHALLENGING! Sounds like your husband has been eating your leftovers!!! Mine eats off my plate too but he never gains! He's been between 169 and 172 for YEARS! At 6 feet, he stays nice and slim! Always makes me sick!
