I know you wi**** were sooner but at least you have a date for your surgery scheduled now... that is a step in the right direction. It sounds like you have found the right doctor to take care of you and get you all patched up and on the road to a healthier life. I know you are still going through a lot though. I will continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you stay stabilized until your surgery and that all goes well with your surgery. I am sure you will do just fine... Keep us posted.... HUGS, Shawn M.

Thanks, Shawn. I'm really going through some tough emotions right now. And being depressed just magnifies everything. I'm finding myself being really cautious to give my trust to this guy, but he is the best of the best here and I have LOTS of friends who have had him for their original surgery and even revisions of other drs. work. So I know he's good. I'm sure as I go through it, it will get easier. Thank you for your concern and good thoughts.

Kim, Glad to hear some positive news! Also, from what I'm gathering, the revision will mostly involve making the bypass part of the surgery a little closer in, right? Not having such a long bypassed area should alleviate the diarrhea. Is that the new doctor's thinking? I guess your original surgeon is fearful of being sued or having his work reviewed since he is hesitant to give up his notes! Good luck! Wi**** were even sooner! CeCe

Hi CeCe, my bypass starts with the first 6 feet of intestine where it is attached to my remnant stomach. That is what is bypassed. So he will put back (re-hook up) anywhere from 3 feet to the whole 6 feet, but leave my new stomach sleeve as is. So I will have the restriction, but will have either no malabsorption (if he re-hooks up all 6 feet), or partial malabsorption (if he hooks up only a portion of the bypassed part). So I could end up with no bypass, or 2-3 feet bypassed. That would help the diarrhea for sure, and it will also give me more area to absorb the nutrients and calories. Who knows what my original surgeon is thinking. He could just be all wrapped up in getting new patients and really just not paying attention to records requests, or he could be purposefully ignoring them. I'm not sure. I'm not very happy with him though.

KIm, Praise the Lord! You finally have a plan of action. I know Nov 14 sounds so far away but it will be here before you know it. Just continue doin' what you have been doin' to maintain and trust God for the rest. I know it is hard to trust the surgeon but you can trust the Lord. He will see you through. Continued prayers are headed your direction. Hugs, Valorie
