My countdown to ONEDERLAND!

So I woke up this morning to 210. My personal special goal is to reach 199 by November 28th-which is my year surgiversary date! I think out of all the goals=199 was most significant to me. It's the weight I don't REMEMBER being! LOL! I can remember everything with a 3 in front of it-I may have even glimpsed a 4-and of course I remember the 2's. 199 represents a real transition into normalcy to me. I just wanted to share this with you-as it's much sweeter to share these things than to go it alone!! So-please wish me luck and I am going to keep you posted through the next several weeks! Hugs and thanks! Therese

Therese, that will be a HUGE milestone! What do you plan to do to celebrate? I think you need to mark it when you get there, somehow. Oh, but probably, obviously, not with food, LOL! Don't get down if it doesn't happen by your one year anniversary. The timeline is not as important as your health. I'm so happy you are so close. Such a fun time to rejoice. Keep us posted as you get closer.

Hey Kim! I am hoping to see you back around after your appointment today!! Thanks for reminding me to appreciate my health and taking it as it comes. I know you are SO right that the "DAY" isn't nearly as important as ENJOYING it!! Big hugs!! Therese

Therese, I understand completely about the 199 mark. I have had that secret goal myself ever since surgery. It doesn't look like there is any hope of me making it by my surgiversary (Nov 14) as I still have 24 lbs to go. I have extended my "deadline" to Jan 1. I would love to start the new year off in onederland. You have done so well with your weight loss. I admire you for sharing your journey with the world. For those of us who started this journey over 300 pounds sometimes it seems like we will never reach our goals. The people starting the journey at lower weights appear to have hit them much quicker. Of course, the more we have to lose the longer it takes, but sometimes it is disheartening. Much luck on reaching your goal on time. I am sure you will make it. Hugs, Valorie

Hi Valorie! Your post made me tear up! I so agree! I see many folk****ting their goals and I am happy for them-but part of me always has this *sigh*. I guess it is just part of starting at a higher weight. I posted this post on the main board-and I changed it to say let's all shoot for 2008! There are a bunch of others just like us that are nearing onederland and they all want to keep in touch too!! Thanks so much and hugs! Therese

Therese, You're SO close. It's such a great feeling to get that silly 1 as the first number in your weight!! And I totally know how watching other people get places first feels. While I did start under 300 it wasn't much under and while I cheered for everyone that hit onederland way before me I always did the little *sigh* as well But you're almost there!!! You go girl! Therese, You have done an awesome job and should be proud of what you have accomplished so far.... You will be in ONEderland before you know it.... I agree with Kim and Valorie though, your health is most important and if you don't make it there by your one year mark, don't beat yourself up about it..... You WILL make it there... Make your new goal the first of the year.... I know I wanted to be at my goal weight by my one year, and I know that is not going to happen, if ever... I have been stalled for so long that I think my body has decided to stop losing... I am going to work at it though and you shouldn't lose sight of your goal... It will happen for you.. it has just taken a little longer than it has for others.. You are so much healthier now and so much smaller too.... WTG on all you have accomplished.... Keep up the awesome job!!!!!! Shawn M.
