Hi everyone, I usually hang out on the Arizona Board, but I need some advise/help from those who are at the same point I am at. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how much they can eat at this point?? I know when we began we were supposed to be able to eat from 2-3 ounces at one setting. Are we supposed to still only be able to eat that amount? I can eat 4-6 ounces at a time now depending on what it is that I am eating. Is that right??? Or have I stretched my pouch out. Thanks for any help/advise anyone can give me. Liss

You are fine! Take a look at the "success plan" post for Friday / Thursday - you can see examples there of what some of us are eating in a day. hugs, Britt

You can all of a sudden eat a lot more and it totally freaks you out. You should be eating about 3/4 of a cup and a cup by a year is what my nurse tells me. Welcome to the board it's a good one. Deb

My doctor told me that around 7-months out I would be able to eat more and the weight loss would slow down. So you sound like you are doing ok to me. Pattie

I can eat a lot of food! I try to keep it to 3-4 ounces of protein and a side vegetable. I can easily eat two cups of food though. My pouch has never been very restrictive to me. You'll be fine. Just weigh, measure, count calories--whatever you have to do to make sure you are staying within a reasonable parameter. It's so funny that we all have the same fears and feelings. That's the beauty of this board!

Hi Melissa, Welcome to the Nov '06 board. We hope you will join us regularly. You are perfectly normal to eat 4-6oz or 3/4 to a cup of food depending on the density. I think we all have had the fear that we have stretched our pouches when we begin eating "so much" Laughing because 6 oz or a cup to "normal" non WLS folks would be so very little and unsatisfying. Don't worry, just follow the rules and enjoy your life as a smaller, healthier person! And remember to join us! We need some new blood... No offense to my Nov '06 buddies!!! Hugs, Valorie

Thank you everyone!!!! Your posts were very reassuring! I will check out the earlier post on menu's. It does feel like I'm eating sooo much. The people around me say they barely see me eat anything, but to me it feels like I am eating so much. So I do worry. It feels better to get reassurance from those at the same point I am at Thank you all so much for your kind responses, and warm welcomes

Hey Liss...welcome to our board!! I concur with everyone else, we're all able to eat more now. And it really depends on the food too. I can eat probably closer to two cups of salad simply because it's mostly water, but only a 1/2 cup at the most of most protien. By the way you look great! Keep up the amazing work! Corinna Q

Funny you mentioned salad as that was the first thing that set off my worrying. I was able to eat like you said about 2 cups of salad. Of course when I weighed it it was only 4 ounces, but it sure looked like a lot more. Thank you!
