Uh-oh...got a fever
I went for my post-op appointment today and he removed a bunch of gauze and cleaned me up some. Because I had nipple grafts I've got these hard wads of cloth (about an inch high) sewn to my breasts, which he will leave on until Wednesday. When I got home I layed down and rested for a while and got so cold I couldn't stand it. I just checked my temp at 5:15 and it was 102.8! I took 2 tylenol and waited 15 minutes and then it was 101.6. I was bundled in a heavy blanket so I hope that is why it was so high to start with. I guess I'll take tylenol every 4-6 hours and call the doctor's office in the morning. Other than that, the girls look good. They are small and firm but I'm sure that is partly due to swelling. And I can't really tell what they are going to look like until he takes off the nipple gauze.
I'll keep you posted!
Susan
Keep a close watch on that fever Susan... If you need to, go to the ER... you don't want to mess around with the chance of an infection... They can get you started on IV antibiotics if needed... Please don't wait too long to take action... A fever is the first sign our bodies give us that something may be wrong.... Best of luck to you.. hope the fever breaks soon....

I'm feeling better today. I felt pretty lousy last night and my fever kept coming and going, leaving my clothes soaked. But so far today I haven't had any fever. I feel better and got a bath and washed my hair. Now I feel almost human again. I took my neice to get car insurance and I feel self-conscious about my nipple guards but oh well. I don't think they are too, too noticeable (at least I hope their not!).
Thanks for the get-well wishes. I called my doctor's office this morning to let them know about my fever but they are closed on Fridays. I'll just keep taking it easy and taking my tylenol as needed. But don't worry - if my fever won't go away I will go to the ER. I'm not about to take chances with this!
Hugs to everyone,
Susan
