Prayers Needed

Ok, I have had a pretty rough few days. Both my husband and I lost our jobs this week on layoff's. He can get unemployment (as little as it is) but I can not get unemployment as I was paid through a leased agreement and do not qualify. We are on the search for new positions but we are in a world of mess. I have been so upset since getting the new's and then the additional news from unemployment that I do not qualify for any benefits, that I have lost 3 lbs (putting me at 5'6" and 120 lbs) making me way too small. I am also having some pains in the pouch region of my abdomen radiating to my back. I dont know if it gas pain or what. I am walking slightly bent over as it hurts more to stand straight up, feels like my guts are tearing some. I called my surgeon who said it might be gas (offered a few over the counter suggestions) but told me if it is any worse or not better in a few hours to go straight to the ER. Well, that was last night and I am still not much better, I do have gas but it is not any worse. I am trying to avoid going to the ER if possible as our medical insurance expired last night. I know worst case scenario, I can elect COBRA but we REALLY do not have the funds for this. Jobs are hard to come by here, expecially in my salary range and I AM SCARED. My son just started a new (expensive) pre-school this week and we are so in-debt. My Mother has graciously offered to cover his pre-school bill for now so that he doesn't lose his spot. We will half to take him to part-time (3 days a week) as part time is still $100 a week. The only good news is that I do get 2 weeks severance and another 10 days of vacation pay, so we are OK for about a month. Please pray for me in regards to the pain and my existing weight and please pray for my family as this is a terrible situation that we are in. Some of you already know, we were trying to adopt again. Obviously this is delayed some but hopefully we can recover quickly and it will not be delayed for long. I am a believer in God and trust that he has a plan for us..... I just have to keep telling myself this.

Christy, I'm so sorry to hear about your work and health situations. Please don't hesitate to get medical help though. Is the pain constant? I know that many WLS post ops end up with gall bladder problems but some surgeons take out the gall bladder as a regular part of surgery. What you are describing doesn't sound like gall bladder and I hope it is something simple but don't wait to have it checked out if you are still in pain. I know the situation seems really dark with your career right now but I'm hoping that as this door closes an even better job will open up to you. I'll be thinking of you and and your family. CeCe

CeCe, Thank you for your kind words. The issue with my stomach turned out to be GAS. I had myself so upset that I think I created gas in my stomach and made myself sick. I ended up in the ER on Saturday, the day after my insurance expired and also my birthday.... We are definately electing COBRA. I am still having residual stomach pains. It was pretty darn miserable. I have always ended up with a better job after losing a job but I am so scared that my luck has run out. I am just so depressed over the issue and can barely hold my head up but I appreciate your thoughts, please keep us in your prayers. Christy

Hello, I understand what you are going thru. My husband was laid off April 5th of this year. He STILL has Not found a job, but we think he will get one for sure this week, although it's 1/2 what he was making before & before was just covering the bills. He got a severance too & we have just about gone thru all of that. We got included in his severance 5 month of Cobra prepaid by his former employer, that was nice, although it was up the end of July & everyone seems to be getting sick now..... figures....... & it's very scary. Unemployment is a joke, but atleast it is something. I am out looking like crazy to find a job as well, in hopes to try & make up for the big pay difference he is about to have to take. I have been a stay at home mom for 13 years, so I can only get entry level right now. I have 3 children & I understand how scary this is for you and your family. I will keep you in our prayers, email me if you need to talk ((HUGS)) [email protected]

Hi Julie, Thank you for your kind words and support. I know you'all have been in a mess for a while with your husbands job situation. I am so sorry to hear that, it is also the fear I have. We will never financially recover if this last's long. Everyone in this house also has gotten sick in the last few days..... Crazy huh.... I am trying so hard to look to God in this time but it is sooooo hard to do when I can barely hold my head up. Please keep us in your prayers and I will do the same. I understand your pain. Christy

I am so very sorry that you are in so much pain and I will pray for you that you will get better with this, about 3 weeks ago I had this same problem, thought that it was my gall bladder because the pain went around to my back, boy did I ever hurt, and for me togo to ER I have to be hurting really bad, thought it might be gas, it was somewhat true. Went to ER and it end up that I was just full of poop, gave me some awful stuff for that but did not work well, of course we do not eat enough to be as plugged as I was, ER did do a ultra sound and I have to mobile gall stones, but he said that it was not my gall bladder that was causing the pain. I am much better now and do not wan to go though that again. I am praying that you and your husband find a job REALLY REALLY soon as we also know what it is like to be with out a job and no unemployment coming in, it is no fun. Our Lord does have a plan for all of us and I know that He is on our side and will show us the way that we need to go. Where there is a way our Lord will surely let you know in some way which way to go. Our daughter just had WLS the 31 of Aug. She was one of the unlucky one's that worked for Dell Roseburg and got fired along with 200 other poor soul's, she worked for them for 3 and 1/2 years and she hurried up and had her WLS before her insurance expired, and lo and behold our Lord let that happen, she had applied but insurance denied her and after she was let go, reapplied and they approved her so we are thankful for that. She still has no job, but she does have her WLS out of the way where she does not have to pay for all of it like you and I did, she is going to try to go back to school, they will let these people know in about 30 days. Well you take care of your self and get well and I will continue to remember you in our prayers and pray that you get back on track for your adoption, and wellness and jobs. Blessings Chrisy

Hello Britt, You are always so kind and supportive. After a trip to the ER on my Birthday (Saturday) the day after our insurance expired, it turns out just to be gas. So COBRA is a definate for us. I am mostly over the GAS issue, with some residual pain. Otherwise, I feel terrible about the whole job situation, adoption and financials. I am trying to look to God but it is sooo hard. I can barely hold my head up. Please keep us in your prayers. Christy
