Does anybody else but me have this problem. Since about six months out I've been in a weird cycle of losing. I will lose 10lb in a heartbeat and then plateau for weeks on end. It's very frustrating when this happens, I have tried switching up some meals, more/less protein and water. I've also been experimenting with different forms of exercise but have found the cardio, weights and yoga of some form seem to be my mainstays....I exercise at least 4x a week and strive for 6 when I can. With the kids going back to school it seems to me I'm carrying an extra burden of trying to get them situated in my new life...I know they were in school before when I had the surgery, but it seems so foreign to me now...I'm glad tonight is support group and my favorite doctor of the head is speaking (she's also my doc) so I will get more support from that, but I wanted to throw this out there and see if I am alone in this! Thanks again for all your support!

Michelle, the longest "stall" I've had was a little over 3 weeks (though they say a TRUE STALL is no weight change for 30 days!) anyway ... stalls do happen - its part of this journey for some I personally have noticed **** IF I REALLY DIG DEEP AND RE-EVALUATE WHAT I AM DOING **** I CAN SEE AREAS TO IMPROVE *** if I don't log my intake on www.fitday.com for a few days its easy for me to stray!!!! and add a few un-needed calories and I've noticed that I graze when I don't log my food. I really pumped it up at the gym last week and made sure I only ate breakfast - lunch and dinner ... snacks!!! It paid off I lost 3 pounds and broke that stall NOW - if you are completely following all of the rules and working out in your target heart rate zone ...then maybe you should touch base with your surgeon and nutritionist to see what they suggest. Maybe that is just how YOUR BODY looses!!! maybe post this on the RNY board and see what others there say too ... keep us posted! hugs, Britt

I go see my surgeon for my 9 month check up on the 6th of next month, we will definitely discuss at that point. However, I've been journaling all my foods and exercise and have been speaking with the NUT, he seems to think everything is fine, of course I get disgusted and try hard to keep my eye on the prize but some days it's hard! thanks Britt

Michelle, I am the exact same way. Usually I lose 9, 10, 11 lbs at once then plateu for 2-3 weeks. It has been that way with me from the begining. I remember my first post to OH was something like " Has anyone every stalled after just 1 week???" I have just figured out it is my bodies way of reacting to the chunk of weight loss. It loses a chunk then it re-adjusts with a period of plateau. When I have 1-3 lb loss per week, the plateau doesn't happen. Of course I love it when I see a 9 or 10 lb drop in one week but I always know what is coming next. Just hang in there. I know it STINKS to be in a plateau but you can look forward to the next big drop. It will come. It has to if you are doing everything right. Keep you eye on the prize! Valorie

Valorie - I have to say I never had that problem the first six months, I was losing larger amounts then smaller ones as time went on but still losing so this is still a little newer to me. I have to admit I'm not miserable about the surgery or the weight loss so far but it is so hard some days more than others when it just stays the same. Thanks for the support!

I've been stuck on the same weight for 5-weeks now. I'm getting upset about it too.
