Good morning everyone. I would like to thank Britt again for her efforts to keep us focused and on track. The knowledge that she gives us in invaluable as well as inspirational. I, like others, had a compilation of things that made me decide to have WLS. I guess the final "straw" was seeing the number on the scale hit 349. When that number appeared all I could think was OMG I have officially failed. I failed myself as well as my family. I have to do something to get back control over my life and health. I desperately did not want to hit 350 lbs. I had just had my second child where I lost 40 lbs. In a matter of less than 1 year, I had regained the 40 lbs + 9 additional. I knew without some intervention, I would continue to gain. Well, on to the good news. Drum roll please..... Starting weight = 348 and BMI 60 Weight on Day of Surgery = 332.5 Last week = 235.0 This week = 232.0 Loss this week = 3 lbs Total loss = 116 lbs Since surgery 100.5 lbs I am officially a member of the Century Club...No more Nada-Zip Club for me! Me and Britt doing the century club dance The same week! Onward and downward! Hugs, Valorie -100 lbs!!!!!!

Woo Hoo Britt!!! Congratulations on your century club!!! And you too Valorie. Wow, so many accomplishments this week. And none of you are in the nada zip club! Good job! Lianna, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Just remember we are all here to help you through emotionally in any way we can. It's good to see you back. This week has been up and down for me. I'm still struggling. I think my battery on my scale is going because I refuse to believe I lost 5 lbs. overnight after eating a HUGE prime rib dinner with garlic mashed potatoes, caesar salad, crab cake appetizer and cheesecake dessert. I just refuse to believe that. So my scale said I hit a new low. 104.8 and it HAS to be wrong. So I am getting a new battery today. I stepped on the scale this morning and it was 106.8, which is more believable after yesterday, but still. Maybe I'm just in denial. UGH! So, here are my stats. Starting weight 202 Last week = 107 This week = 106.8 Loss this week = .2 Total loss = 95 Current BMI = 18.4 I am going to start another thread on something I came across this weekend that may be worth sharing.

I forgot to post about my straw. For me the process started when my mom died. My health was going downhill and I knew it was because I was getting heavier. Then one day I looked at the BMI chart and found I was closer to morbidly obese than overweight and that did it for me. I didn't think I would qualify for surgery only needing to lose less than 100 lbs., but I had enough co-morbidities that I qualified. Even with everything going on with me, I would do this again. Life is so much better now.

Well this has been a great week for everyone. I think that challenge last week to get everyone on track helped. I know I really upped my exercise and added more protien and my scale moved too. Starting 292 Last week 263 This week 262 Loss 1 pound Total loss 130 20 pounds to get to goal My straw was the fact that my body hurt constantly. As many mentioned...especially my feet. That and pictures from the most recent production I had done showed me in all of my fat glory. I was horrified at how big I had gotten. Corinna

Hello all I am still hitting the gym and pool 6 days a week. I have bumped up my cardio level also, on Sunday I went for 1 hour on the nustep recumbent cross trainer machine. Right now I am probably in the best shape that I have been in for as long as I can remember. I dropped another 4 pounds also, and I am starting to feel muscles that I never knew I even had before. As far as the straw, I think my straw had been broken for a long time there was just no place close for me to go to have RNY surgery done ,or them doing the surgery with someone my weight, until I found out about them starting the surgery in my hospital. I met with the doctor and he said he could do my surgery., and as they say the rest is history. Hope everyone has a great week.
