on the plastic surgeon visit:
Tummy tuck is $9800 and breast lift is $6800.
I should expect to have only 3-4 pound weight loss from the skin/fat removal
He said losing up to 20 pounds after the surgery should have little effect (I only want to lose 10 more any way)
I go home the same day
I could return to work in ONE week (I'm taking two)
I can have the face lift/brow lift within 6 weeks afterwards if I want. (Another $11,000)
My TT/Breast lift is scheduled for November 8th. Now I just need to come up with $14,000!!

I forgot to mention that when I asked if he thought it was too soon after RNY he said it all depends upon the labs. If the labs are in the normal range it's a go. If not you have to wait until they are corrected. He doesn't have any rules like waiting 18 months after surgery or waiting six months after you start the maintenance phase.
Wanda,
Thank you for sharing the wealth of info.
Are you getting a breast lift and implants? (i've heard and been reading this seems to be reccomended for better / lasting results - what is your take on this?)
I'd love to get a TT and BL / implants
Oh my goodness! I am SO excited for you ... YOU HAVE A SURGERY DATE!
Have you been visiting the PS forum ... I love that board - especially the before and after pictures they share there.
keep us posted!!!!
I am thrilled for you girl!!!"
remember to take before and after pictures.
hugs,
Britt

Don't you think that I showed great restraint in waiting until November? My usual style would be to just jump into into and get it done now.
My husband is very against implants. The doctor didn't suggest it and I didn't ask for them. I'm a D cup so maybe I can still maintain a C afterwards. That was one of the questions on my list but I didn't get around to asking it. I figured if I wasn't happy with the size I would go back for implants later.
I have a feeling that the relationship with the PS will be a long lasting one face lift, brow lift, eye lift, maybe arms, maybe thighs, oh..who knows?
Wow, that seems like good prices. Of course I haven't really started checking but I was expecting about 8 grand for the BL. Go home the same day sounds a bit fast to me though. Especially for the TT. I can't wait to see how this goes for you! You are our first TT on the board (at least I think)
So exciting! I know 14,000 is nothing to sneeze at. Shoot, my credit cards would just have to be maxed out if it were me!
Congrats and keep us posted.
Hugs,
Valorie
WOW, You will be totally reborn on the 13th!!! Almost a full circle, lose the weight and then rid yourself of the excess bagage of the years at your former weight. How exciting. I have another 45 to go before I can even begin to think about PS. I cant wait to hear more about this new journey! Have you seen any other plastic surgeons for a second opinion?

Sharon, I haven't shopped it because I trust in his skills. I liked the fact that he refused to do certain procedures on me instead of just doing it for the money. His offices are extremely expensive, the waiting rooms are packed, and he appears to be very rich. To me that means he is in high demand so I feel comfortable that he has a great reputation. He said that he has never advertized and that all of his business is from word-of-mouth.
Another thing that I liked about him is that his waiting room has some outstanding paintings hanging that he did. I like the fact that he has an artists eye. It might come in handy during surgery!

I bet I could get it done cheaper but he is suppose to be the best of the best. I know people that had surgeries done by him and have been very happy.
He says that his patients bleed less and heal faster because he doesn't use a scaple. He uses some sort of water driven incision. His new offices contains surgical suites so the procedures are done there with a full surgical staff. Here's his website. Check it out and see what you think: cosmeticform.com. Maybe I'll be one of his before and after pictures some day soon!
Wanda, I just realized that we are "surgery sisters"! And we're both ready for plastics! How exciting this year has been, huh? I think it is a really good price on the TT. I was quoted about $11k but he wants to do a LBL instead of a TT. And I would go home the same day also but I would probably be out of work 2-3 weeks. He also told me the same thing about the amount of time - as long as the bloodwork is good and I am within 10-15 lbs of my goal weight that he would do it. He said 10-15 lbs wouldn't make that much of a difference in the outcome of the surgery.
Yay for you!!!! I'm so happy for you.
