high protein yogurt
I'm sure some of you have heard of this but for those that haven't there is a high protein greek-style yogurt that has 16 gms of protein per 1 cup serving! It is called Fage yogurt. It tastes like plain yogurt and it is very smooth but most people put in some equal or splenda and some all-fruit spread to make it sweet like flavored yogurt. I can't tolerate it and I found that out the hard way but it was good before I got sick. lol. Anyway, here is the link if you want to check it out. I got it at Whole Foods and I think they carry it at Publix.

It's a lot better than regular yogurt and has much more protein. A little pricey though - $1.79/cup.

Susan, I've bought Fage at Trader Joe's and Harris Teeter as well. Since you mentioned Splenda, I assume you got the sugar free/low sugar one. Sorry you couldn't tolerate it but it is pricey and you can do what I do instead. I use the Dannon Light and Fit and mix a scoop of Any Whey unflavored protein in it. I know I mention the Any Whey protein a lot but I couldn't have made this journey without it! I mix it in cottage cheese, yogurt and just about everything that I can!
Valerie, I buy Any Whey at GNC with my 20% off card which I can use all month at my GNC. Early out I put a scoop in ground turkey to add additional protein to a turkey meat loaf. I don't recall any sweet taste there but most of the stuff I add it to is either sweet tasting (yogurt) or I add Splenda (cottage cheese with fruit) so I'm not sure if there is any taste at all. I just know it's the one thing I can tolerate using daily! I've spent hundreds trying the various brands/flavors and Any Whey is the only one I buy and use now.

I love the Fage yogurt but it is hard to find where I live. I do the same thing as CeCe and buy the Dannon Lit & Fit and add protein to it.
Thanks for the suggestion of adding Any Whey to the Dannon light & fit yogurt. I would not have thought of doing that. I use Any Whey everyday - I live on it! Every morning I have 1.5 scoops of Any Whey mixed with the SF Carnation Instant Breakfast and about 10 oz. of 1% milk and that is my protein drink for the day. But I really need to up my protein and I am definitely going to try the yogurt. As far as where I buy Any Whey, I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe but I have also ordered it online. I just don't remember the website. If you google it I'm sure something will come up.
Thanks again!!!
Susan
