Randy and I ask ourselves that question way too often. We planned our cruise during hurrican season! We are two weeks away and there is way too much weather activity out there. I knew it was an active time for hurricanes but, I'm an optimist and never think bad things will actually happen. We are going to the western Carribbean. We plan to snorkle in the Bahamas, visit the Myan ruins in Cozamel, and climb to the top of Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. I can't wait but, I'm hoping that we don't share the waters with a hurricane! The cruise line said that they will still sail but, would sail in the direction opposite a hurricane. I even found a beautiful formal. I've looked for months but couldn't find one that wasn't sleeveless! Finally I found a bronze colored long dress with a bolero. Yay! The seamstress should have it altered this week so I'll be all set. Hurricane or not--we're going! On my last cruise I weighed 200 pounds. I plan on having way more fun this time around!

More often than not, optimism serves us well. But every now and again we get bitten. Last year we decided to rehab a house and lost a few thousand. In hindsight, I realized that I should have seen that one coming. I just plunge into things sometimes with blind optimism intead of thinking through all of the bad things that could happen! I recently read someones story that was self-pay wls and had $90,000 worth of complications that wasn't paid by insurance. I thought--dang! That could have been me! Good thing I didn't hear that story prior to wls! The trouble is my husband is just like me! We don't have anyone to point out all of the negative consequences. We are going to have to take turns playing the devils advocate.

I love cruising because my husband's cell phone doesn't ring! It's the only place he can escape and totally unplug! I am worried about the overbundance of food. I'll have to find creative ways to stay away from the buffets!
