Tight lap band in the A.M.???
Hi,
Can anyone offer suggestions to what I can do to open up my band, so that I can comfortably get foods down in the morning before I go to work?? It seems like it's much tighter in the morning than at night. And there's no consistency either. Some mornings/days I can eat what I normally do, and other times I can't becuase the band feels so much tighter. This usually results in a lot of frustration because I'm hungry and can't get anything to go down comfortably except liquids, which don't obviously keep me full and satisfied! Any suggestions on how to do this??? Thanks for any help!!

Tasha, I don't know anything about the band. I just wanted to say Hi and welcome!
Tasha,
I don't have a lapband but did want to mention that while I've always been a breakfast eater, there are plenty of days since my RNY that my breakfast doesn't seem to want to go down very easily or that I get a full feeling after just one bite. What does seem to work is for me to mix a scoop of unflavored protein powder (Any Whey) with a carton of yogurt (right now I'm hooked on the lemon flavor!). Most days of the week my breakfast is a scoop of Any Whey, 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, a sliced up nectarine and a couple of Splendas. I eat this before heading to the gym and there are times I stay at the gym 3 hours doing strength training and Spinning or other cardio. Just the 1/2 cup of low fat cottage cheese has 12 grams of protein and a heaping scoop of Any Whey has right at 20. The fruit added a little fiber and carbs so I'm all set. I can't face a breakfast of eggs or toast since RNY and I can't tolerate cereal at all (don't know why!!!). You might try eating something like the yogurt mix for breakfast but do ask others who have had lapband for suggestions! Welcome.
