Oh Blah!
Well, this is my two wees and a half not losing a single pound. It's never happened to date, until now. Nothing food-wise or exercise has changed. The ONLY thing I can think of -well two things:
1. It's just that I am almost 9 months out and this is going to happen sometimes?
2. I have not been feeling well. I have been on Cipro for a week for a potential bladder infection-with no results. I have an appointment with a urologist for next week. Also-I had dental work done early last week-and it made my pain WORSE-further more-the tooth NEXT to the one they worked on cracked yesterday.
There are the two possible reasons for the scale not moving.
I know it's not the worst that could happen and I have been VERY fortunate. I have gone from 359 to 232 in less than 9 months (that is from surgery date till today)
And from last August-just over 150 lbs lost.
*Sigh* You all are such wonderful supports to me and I just needed to reach out for a little comfort!
Hugs to you all!!

Wow.. this is your first stalll????? OMG!!! You should be so proud that you have made it 9 months without a stall... I know just how frustrating it can be though, whether it be your first or your tenth... you will get through it and the weight will start to drop again.... It very well may be the meds you are on for the bladder infection... I wouldn't doubt that.... I am sure once that clears up and you are done with the meds, you will start to lose again.
You have come a long way since surgery though so don't get discouraged... you didn't put all that weight on in 9 months and you can't expect it too all just dissolve away in 9 months.... You have done AWESOME!!! and should be very proud..... It will start to drop again.. just give it time.. you are obviously doing the right things and should just keep on doing what you are doing. Our bodies need time to catch up with the weight loss. It will happen, and you will be happy when it does.... Keep up the great work and Congrats on such great success so far!!!!

Therese,
You are doing terrific!!!
Firstly, a TRUE STALL is no change in your weight for a full 4 weeks.
I have had the scale "stay the same" 5 times in my journey so far. When I talked to my nutritionist about it she said that its completely normal.
Sometimes our body's needs ** catch up time **.
Don't sweat it! As long as you are following the rules it will move again.
When your scale is STUCK it is very frustrating!!!! I understand. (((sending hugs))) your way.
You could try to increase your water intake and change up your exercise routine - are you working out in your target heart rate? Do you monitor your heart rate during your workouts?
hugs,
Britt
Hi Britt!
Thanks for setting me straight on the stall thing! I tend towards "DRAMATIC!" LOL! So it's good to know about the full 4 weeks timeline! Not there yet!
I am going to up my exercise. I went the minimal exercise and knew I would go ahead and up it in earnest when I started hitting the wall. Sort of like saving the energy to pull out the stops!
Thanks so much!!
Therese
Therese,
I know what you mean. I am one of the lucky ones that really hasn't had a true stall yet (knock on wood). But I'll go a week or two with the scale not moving and it's frustrating for sure!! Something that works for me is adding protien shakes. I usually only get one in a day and by adding one a day for a week it gets things moving again. And water is always a good one too.
Anyway, you're doing great so don't get too frustrated. Trust me this doesn't mean the loosing is done! I'm sure the meds have something to do with it too. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will start back up again.

You have done so well. But I know how frustrating a stall can be I had my first big gain last week. I'm 9 months out and I can eat more and sometimes I don't always make the best choices. Hang in there and be careful with the UTI make sure you're taking your calcium because one of the ladies who had a November surgery wasn't taking her calcium and her UTI turned into a kidney infection.
