Y-O-U are invited - Weekly Weigh in 8/13
Patty, I just looked at your profile and see that you've lost 118 pounds from your highest weight!!!!! And, I looked at your before and now pictures! WOW! I know from firsthand experience how frustrating it is when we lose so slowly or have a mini-stall. It's frustrating to work so hard and not see the "instant" (HA!) results we were seeing early on but now is the time we need to work the hardest. I've read and heard so much about people who had tremendous losses with WLS and then regain some or a lot of weight. I talked to a woman at a required 3 hour presurgery class and was shocked when she told me her husband was one year out from surgery and had regained tons of weight - almost all he had lost! She said he sat in front of the television with one each of those huge Sam's Club containers of almonds and Animal crackers. Duh!!! I can't imagine doing that but I have found how easy it is to eat a few too many calories a day or that Wheat Thins or crackers like that go down REALLY easy and I don't feel full very quickly! I believe I've come to the realization that months 9 to 12 or even 18 months separate those determined to make their tool work and those who start working around the pouch. You are one of the successes! We come and read these posts because we are still committed to WLS. We work through the frustrations. Sure, we get knocked down but we are like those Weebles from years ago - we just pop back up and get back to basics! It's HARD to stay focused when the losses are few and far between but if you are like me, the pounds come back lots faster than they come off! We have to be ever vigilant! Strong warriors united in battle!!! (Hey, this pep talk is as much for me as for you but I hope it helps!) Let us know when the Scale Monster is conquered and you hit a new low!
Hey everybody! It was a better week for me this week. Here it is:
Starting weight: 250
Last week: 145.6
This week: 143.4
Weight Loss this week: 2.2
Total weight loss: 106.6
Starting BMI: 41.6
Current BMI: 23.9 (Finally just made the "normal" category)
My goal is to run a 5K... but it's really hot right now in Florida so I would like to wait a couple of months so I don't collapse of heat exhaustion. I have been doing it on the treadmill at the gym, but I'm afraid to take it outside right now. So, I'm going to give it a little more time.
Glad to see we are all staying so motivated together!
