Goal Setting

One of the classes that I attended while I was gone was about goal setting. As luck would have it (or maybe that was God speaking to me) the speaker had an eating disorder. He suffered with Binge Eating Disorder (BED). He said that once when he was traveling he opened the hotel mini-bar --you know those evil goodies that they put in the hotel fridge to tempt tired and hungry travelers. He decided to open a package of cookies and before he knew it he ate the entire contents of the mini bar. His whole talk was based on the carrot and the stick principle and how only the stick works. He believes unless their is a negative consequence assigned to not meeting your goal that you won't consistently follow through. Now before he travels he promises 5 different people that if he eats even one item from the mini bar he will pay them $250 each. That technique is only as good as you are honest but I think I can make it work for me. His website is bobdavies.com. He is a an interesting guy.

This sounds very interesting. I have had a hard time sticking to my goals of not snacking in the afternoon this week. Of course partly because I am not snacking on healthy choices. I will have to check out his website tomorrow. I need to get to bed soon!! Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Kim

it's so true. And isn't that what our new pouch is all about. At least for me it is. If I cheat I pay for it in some physical way that is not fun at all!!! Thanks for sharing!! Corinna Q
