Last year I gained 10 pounds at the annual convention! I have three formal dinners and daily box lunches to contend with. I doubt there is a low-carb option anywhere. I am really concerned that I'm going to blow it!
I leave Sunday morning. Be sure you send me positive thoughts and good wishes all week. My heart is palpatating and my palms are sweaty just thinking about it.
This is where I will be http://www.shinglecreekresort.com/. I'm telling you all this so that you see that there is 230 acres of outdoor area and walking trails. There is NO excuse for me to report back in fat. Hold me accountable and don't let me use any excuses if I pork up while I'm gone.

Just knowing that you all will help monitor might keep me straight. Today (Sunday morning) I weigh 147. If I come back more than that I will be pubically shamed in from of my November buddies. You can tell by the wesite there is LOTS of opportunities for healthy activities. There will be no acceptable excuse for me to fail. I know pride is sinful but pride may help me get through this. I hate to fail, especially when everyone is watching.
In my disease of obesity I led a solitary and secret life (as if nobody noticed that I gained and lost 100 pounds at a time!!) Now I want to be as open and transparent as I can possibly be. Thanks for the support!
Love ya' all!
Wanda,
You will be fine. Keep water in your hand. Brink your heart rate monitor and walk baby! Walk walk walk and then walk. I'd bring some protein supplements and do the best you can.
YOU CAN DO THIS
You are NOT going to gain .... because THIS YEAR THERE'S A NEW *HEALTHY* WANDA IN TOWN!!!
Keep us posted.
when will you be back?
hugs,
Britt

I have to come back on Thursday because the surgeon is sending me for an ultrasound guided biopsy on Friday. I hate to miss a day of convention but I need to resolve this ongoing saga.
Thanks for the positive words. And just knowing that you are NORMAL and I'm two pounds from normal helps motivate me too! I will take my heart rate monitor (I love that thing!). I never received my fancy new drink cup, though. I wish I had it to take too. It sure is taking long to get here!
Thanks for helping me get through this. If only I can control the woman in the mirror I will be ok...
Wanda,
You are such a strong woman. Look at all you have accomplished in the past 8-9 months. My positive thoughts are with you but I know you will be fine.
As far as "porking up" (laughing my behind off at that by the way), I know I'm not the only one here that has gone away and maybe had a little too much to eat. We are human. This is a tool we have for the rest of our lives and we are not on a diet. We eat to maintain a healthy lifestyle... and sometimes we may slip. And that is normal! It is not something you want to do everyday but don't beat yourself up before you even get there. I have faith in you!
I bet those walking trails are beautiful. Have fun!
Leah
I am sure you will do fine.... You amaze me at all you do already.... I will keep positive vibes going out to you that you make it through the convention and come back without too much extra... Remember not to beat yourself up though if you do gain a little... Just get right back on track.... You will just fine... Best of luck to you and have fun...

Oh Wanda
You have made alot of changes since you had your surgery and you are not the same person. I don't think you can eat 10 pounds worth of anything in a month let alone how long you'll be at this convention. You will do fine and if you gain a pound or two you'll get right back on track and loose them.
I am positvie you will be successful look how successful you've been in weighloss.
Hugs
Deb
That's right, Wanda, you are a totally different person now than you were then. You are AWARE of what you eat, and the amount of exercise you get. Try to remain positive and be confident rather than doubtful. Sometimes just adjusting the frame of mind you are coming from can have a positive effect.
Good luck to you and I know you will do FINE!
