Since the surgeon couldn't perform my biopsy after all, she referred me back to the radiologist to do it under ultrasound. The insurance had no providers in the county where I live. There was only one provider in the county where I work. The price was $2,603 out of my pocket! I shopped it until I found a covered provider 60 miles away that performs the same test for $375. My husband thinks I'm being cheap--I say I'm just a smart shopper!
That got me thinking about Valories question about out of country surgeries. My RnY costs me $25,000 out of pocket. I could have had my bypass AND tummy tuck AND breast lift for the same money. I think she may be onto something!

I work in health care but I have to tell you but the costs never ceases to surprise me!
Thanks for the compliment on the picture. I think I look so happy because I was standing next to my tall, dark, and handsome baby boy at his basic training graduation. What till you see your son after graduation. Mine was saying strange things like "yes ma'am, no sir". I never thought I would hear such words uttered from his mouth!

Well, thank you Christy! I feel 15 years younger than I did this time last year! I feel bad for Randy. People think he's so much older than me but there is only three years difference in our ages. I think it's funny but I think he fails to see humor in it!
Wanda,
I know I am a bit late but better late than never I hope. Your new pic is so good! You truly look years younger. I am sure your hubby hates the fact that people think he is much older than you are now. LOL Maybe he will have to die his hair or something crazy like that to make himself appear younger.
I am glad that you found a lower cost option for your biopsy. There are options out there if we look hard enough or far enough. I plan on doing much research into options for plastics. Maybe not out of the country but we will see. The main concern with plastics is the length of time under anesthesia.(spelling?) On 20/20 they showed these people having multiple proceedures at the same time taking 5-6 hours. That is major stress to the body. WLS usually takes 3 hours or less and look at the symptoms we had afterwards including the hair loss that I am still dealing with. I don't think my body could take being under for 5 or more hours at a time.
Like I said, much research is in my future.
Hope you are enjoying your convention.
