I always knew I would get a tummy tuck but now I have such baggy arms and legs. Has anyone checked into these surgeries?
I'm trying to buy a dress for my son's military graduation and a formal for the cruise. Everything is sleeveless this year. They are beautiful but not when your arm skin blows in the breeze!
I just went shopping for a dress for my son's military graduation as well... I know what you mean about the style of dresses and the arm skin... I just got myself a sun dress and said oh well.. if people don't like it they don't have to look... LOL...
I have not checked into the surgery yet, but I do plan on it.. I want my tummy done, my thighs, my arms and my boobs (I would like to have some.... lol...) We plan on refinancing our house when it comes to that time I think... we will see
Good Luck... hope you find some dresses you like...

The last time I saw the plastic surgeon he told me that he would not do liposuction around my waist or back...would not do my arms...would not do a butt lift. He said I didn't need it and it wouldn't be a good outcome. I'm glad he's choosy and doesn't do anything that he feels isn't necessary or anything that may have a bad outcome. He has agreed to do a tummy tuck and breast lift. It's so funny that we make these docs rich and we feel "grateful" when they agree to do a procedure on us.
Oh go****otally hear you!!
I have promised to be kind to myself for at LEAST 18 months post surgery-as I know I am pretty much a balloon in the process of deflating!
But-I admit there are times when I just cannot BELIEVE how my skin is looking! I have to laugh or I will cry! Please keep us posted as to what you decide to do! I want to hear everyone's experience.
But of course-you are STILL VERY LOVELY!!
Hugs,
Therese

I was scheduled for a tummy tuck in 2004 when I lost weight but then my weight bounced back up so fast it made my head spin!!
Waiting 18 months is a good idea but, I know I won't be that patient. I'm thinking maybe December. I'm 17 pounds to goal but I haven't been losing very fast. I'll probably go ahead and do it even if I'm not quite at goal. Like I said--I am impatient!
I am right there with you, in serious need of a tummy tuck and breast lift.... If I had a choice the girls would get the lift though. My arms seem to be fine but I have so much skin on my thighs and tummy that I'd probably be down another 10 lbs if they took it off. I'll just have to live with it though, I can't spend the money with trying to add a few more kids to my household. Besides, I scar so bad I don't know if PS would really be worth it or not. Don't get too impatient!

I don't blame you for not spending the money. Your priorities are in the right place. I know you must be an awesome mommy. You are a sweetheart!
I am really looking forward to the tt. There is so many styles of clothing that I just can't wear because of my flabby belly. I still can't wear my shirt tucked in!
You have done absolutely wonderful with your weight loss.
Wanda (and others),
I'm in major need of a tummy tuck too! I have new clothes right now that fit everywhere else except my stomach area. They fit there, actually, but there's this flat tire of loose skin (and fat!) hanging over that just makes me too self-conscious to wear the clothing! So, I end up wearing clothing that's a size too large so it doesn't emphasize that area. While I've certainly lost weight over my entire body, the stomach hasn't shrunk as mu*****omparison. Hopefully, it will start shrinking now. My arms have a lot of hanging skin that isn't going away no matter how toned I am. With all the weight workouts, I have good biceps and triceps but I won't go sleeveless because of my bat wings! Big Bat Wings! I hear that the bat wing surgery is bad! I know the tummy tuck is going to be more painful than the WLS but it's a given in my case and I look forward to my future without this "thing!"

The tummy tuck is what I look most forward to too. I'm sure that I can go down a size when I get it. I also hear it's the most painful surgery to have. I'm a little concerned though. My first memory after the RNY is being back in my room with a nurse standing over me shouting "BREATH!!" I was a ghostly white and I guess I just forgot how to breath for awhile.
My husband thought I was going to die. He said I looked awful. Later when the aide took my blood pressure she went to tell the nurse what it was and they came running in with the cart. If the RNY kicked my butt that bad what will the tummy tuck do?
Try buying the sleeveless dress and then also buying a crochected or knitted shrug to go over it. I did this for my college graduation in May and it worked nicely and I still was able to wear a "stylish" dress without sleeves but not feel so selfconcious. This has worked with some sleeveless shirts as well for this summer.
Good Luck! Congratulations on your son's graduation from the military. Tell him "Thank You" for all his does to keep our nation free!
Best Wishes!
