I eat more than 1/2 cup at a time. I would say usually 3-4 ounces of fish or chicken and some vegetable would be a meal. However, I routinely eat a container of lit & fit yogurt--that's probably 1/2 cup, then add some blueberries, then all-bran extra fiber cereal. That has to be at least a cup all together.
I'm sitting here having lunch as I type. I'm having a cup of lettuce and probably about 4 ounces of grilled tuna.
Now, that I'm actually thinking about it--maybe that's way too much! What do the rest of you guys think?
Hi Wanda,
No, I don't think you are eating too much, sounds like the right amount. I think I'll try increasing my mealtime amount to maybe 3/4 cup and see if that might help with my hunger. Maybe I'm not eating enough. I meant to ask my Dr. at my appointment last week and then completely forgot.
thanks for your reply
Loretta
Hi Miss Wanda, so good to see ya. Your meal seems on target for me. With lettuce, there is the "mush factor" it mushes down to nothingness, actually giving you a good lunch. I eat 5 meals a day and they are small, one is liquid, this works for me, and I have plenty of my meal plans under my posts. Kudos to you for getting a good carb in with your protein, my NUT says that is very important. I just pulled a small turkey out of the oven....smells yummy.
Hugs!
I still have problems with meat like chicken of pork if it is dry but other things I would say about a cup total. I can eat a container of yogurt with fruit....no problem. Soup or things with higher water content maybe even more. I love to eat salads! I eat enough to feel satisfied instead of just full. Does that make sense?
Dinner tonight was 2 slices of ham 2 slices of salami and 2 slices of LF cheese. So about 5 ounces probably. AS you can see I am on a Low Carb day.
Hope this helps,
Valorie

You are right, carbs will make you hungry. Once I had oatmeal for breakfast, I was starving all day. I can have the extra fiber All-Bran and it doesn't make me hungry but it only has 13 grams of carbs.
You might want to try letting your pouch dictate when to stop. I've been thinking about this lately. I put a reasonable amount of food on my plate and then I fini**** all. I think that if I really listened to my pouch I could stop sooner. There is a danger in measuring in that your mind sets you up to think "this is what I will eat", regardless of what your pouch would have said. I never seem to throw food away from my plate so in a way my food is still controlling me. I'm going to force myself to throw away at least something from now on.
