Weekly Weigh In week of 6/18
I was on vacation last week, so missed weighing in, seems I am stuck anyway, so it would not have mattered... Here goes...
Starting weight 229
2 weeks ago 142
today 142
Current BMI 23
2 pounds to goal.
Question, how did you all pick your goal? My surgeon would not set a goal for me, so I came up with my own. I am 5'6" so thought 140 sounded good.. Is it too high, or too low? I know I am not 20 anymore, so can never see that 128 again...
I am wearing a size 8 in most pants, and smalls/mediums in tops.. Seems like many are getting smaller than that..
Great job everyone! I will have to concentrate on plateau busting this week!

Hi sandy,
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/information/post+op+planner.php
This (the above link) is what I used to determine my goal weight! I plugged in 100% loss of excess weight ( that is 142 for me) - my surgeons goal is a normal BMI 154 for me. My Nut thinks I should wind up between 135-142. I coyld go as low as 117 (no way!).
Congrats 2 pounds from goal!!!
Maybe next week we'll be celebrating you ***at goal***
congrats on your 87 pounds loss
hugs,
Britt
I don't know how I missed that page on the site! Thanks for the tip. It actually says 142 is my ideal body weight, maybe that is why I am hitting a standstill now? My biggest goal was to get off of all the insulin I was injecting and taking orally, and that happened within a couple of months. So, it has been a wonderful experience, one I am sure glad I did!
You are doing great, and are such a good inspiration and cheerleader for us all. Your encouragement really helps, I appreciate it, and I am sure many others do also.
By the way, I just love the "do"!!! You look great.

Sandy, I think 140 sounds great for 5'6''. I think goal should be wherever your body seems comfortale to you. Kim said that she used to weigh 106 and that may be where she ends up again. I'm not sure but I think I was born bigger than 106. I'm making my goal 134 because that would give me an even 100 pound loss. I'm only 5'4''. I do remember being in the 130's in my 20's so maybe that is still reachable for me. You have done so awesome!! I would be thrilled to be where you are.
Hello All,
I really love this thread (Thanks, Britt!!) and decided to join in. I had a little episode with weight gain due to an unplanned hospitalization (my potassium is so out of whack!!) so I wanted to get back to my lowest before I posted.

Sounds like a few of us had a tough week. Me included. I did some mindless eating on Saturday and ended up with a horrible crampy stomach and ended up sleeping 2 hours. I used to think I didn't dump, but I think after what I experienced Saturday, I must recognize it as dumping. It's taken me this long to put 2 + 2 together and notice that it is after eating sugary things that my stomach gets this way. Henry had bought a bag of Mothers mini iced molasses cookies and I can usually have one and be ok. But I was watching TV and surfing the net and in my hand went, over and over. When I finally realized what I was doing I told him to put them away out of my reach. Within 30 minutes I was miserable. I have no idea how many I ate.
And it didn't seem to stop me from losing. Which is another thing that has had me concerned. I see my surgeon next week, so I'm excited to see what he has to say. I took a good look at myself this weekend in the mirror, and I DON'T look skeletal. Probably less than I would feel comfortable with, but after I stabilize and bounce back, I think I will be at a more comfortable weight for me. I'm ready to get more clothes (AGAIN!) as my 6's are starting to fall off.
Starting weight 202
Last week = 115
This week = 114
Loss this week = 1
Total loss = 88

Kim,
Hopefully your surgeon will give you some pointers about maintaining. I think you just have to find the right calorioc intake for you in order to maintain! You are doing great!
how does your dress fit after all ofthose alterations ... that seemstress is going to be upset if you lose more
congrats on your 88 pound loss
I hope we all have easier weeks ahead
hugs,
BRITT
I have my final fitting this Friday. She said it will be no problem to take it in. I really don't think I can lose much more in the way of inches. I swear I have no fat left at all. LOL! I have a corset back, so even if I do, I can just cinch it up a bit more. I can't wait to wear it and feel BEAUTIFUL! I looked at the model wearing it (on my profile page) and never thought I would look that good, but I think I actually WILL! Woo hoo!
