Uneven figure woes

One of my employees is getting married today. Unfortunately, I already committed to go before I knew my husband would be gone. I'm not looking forward to driving all the way to Tampa tonight and sitting through a wedding a reception by myself! But I digress...what I wanted to say is that I can't buy a dress or skirt set. My top half is sooo much bigger than my bottom half. I ended up buying a size 12 skirt set just to get the top part to fit! Now the skirt is too big. I've been buying seperates all this time and never noticed this problem before. How weird is that? I had such a hard time shopping for something dressy enough. This is the first time shopping was NOT fun since losing weight. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Funny thing is, I always had a big butt! You would think my bigger size would be on the bottom.

I have the same problem, however... I do get a HUGE thrill out of shopping for anything in a size 12!!!

I thought of that too. Before surgery my best dream was to become a size 12 and now I'm whinning about buying one for the wedding. It's just that I've been wearing size 8 pants (some 10's still fit and even one pair of size 6) so the 12 seemed like a step in the wrong direction. I'm just being a baby, don't mind me. I think as much as anything, the thought of traveling through Tampa traffic and going to a wedding without my husband had me down. I'm glad I went for the sake of my employee. I wanted her to know that I cared about her as a person and I think that goal was accomplished. It was my first time at a Jewish wedding. I found it fascinating. Anyway, I won't complain about our size 12 any more! We will both wear them with pride, Sharon!

Wanda, my dear Wanda! We are in the same shoes just opposite ends. I have a big bootie and legs with a smaller top half. I have a heck of a time with anything that isn't seperates. That is one reason I couldn't believe the size 14 dress fit on Saturday. I wear a 20/22 on the bottom depending on the cut and a regular large or a 14ish on the top. Very big difference. The dress was just cut full enough on the bottom to fit my rump. Hey, if we could swap upper bodies, we would probably be about even! Valorie

You are so funny! I guess it's probably not all that uncommon of a problem. I just got used to buying seperates that I think I forgot that I had this issue! I used to have a huge bootie but it deflated...which is a discussion for another topic.

Oh Wanda.... I so know what you are talking about. I have the same issue and have for I dont know how long, I can NEVER buy a suit or set in just one size unless it is a stretchy kind. As I am within a few pounds of goal this is starting to change.... I am a 6 pant and about an 8 shirt, I have a good bit of toning left to do and think that this will finally even out with that last bit of toning.... I hope this works for you as well as you are getting closer and closer to goal...... Fingers are crossed for you............. HUGS Christy

At 5'7" and a size 6/8 I bet you look maaarrrvellous, darling. I'm barely 5'4"! I do agree with you that the thinner we get the more the shape rearranges to what it should be. I'm starting a new exercise regime tonight that is suppose to help me start losing weight again. I can't wait to give it a try!

Wanda, girlfriend, I know all about the deflating bootie....I call mine the ass-o-lanch...what was up has now come crashing down! Do tell about the exercise. Would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to find something to help firm up all the saggy, baggies. I have recently started to eat Revival Soy Protein bars that are supposed to help rejuvinate skin. It has a long list of things the product is supposed to help, so we will see. This is my 2nd week. The bars are not bad, not great either, but I can choke them down in a couple of sessions. They have 20 grams of protein and 25 grams of soy isoflavens...whatever that is. If anyone is interested they can look up www.revivalsoy.com. They have some very strong health benefit claims. I have heard from several people how soy is miraculous for aging skin. We will see if this is just another waste of money. Valorie
