So Sad

My husband just left for his nephews funeral in Louisanna. He was 21-years old. He only lasted six weeks in Iraq before he was killed by a bomb. So very sad! My heart goes out to the boy's family. Can you imagine how devastating that would be? I hope none of you have or will ever experience such a tragedy. Most of you probably remember how worried I was when my son left for boot camp a few weeks ago. This situation just makes it worse. I still haven't heard from the boy! He uses his precious three minute calls to call his girlfriend instead of his mom. I guess I can understand that. Wishing you all a peace filled day.

Oh thank you, Christy. I'll tell you what--I look at this war differently now that it hits closer to home. We just need to finish up over there and move on.

Wanda, Please except our condolence for the lose of your nephew. It is so very sad that such young men have to pass for "a war". We can only thank each and everyone of them for fighting for OUR freedom! We here in our town have lost several of the children that grew up around us in Irag and it has just devastated our town. We know that our Lord is with each and everyone of them. I do hope that your son contacts you soon, I know the worry that you must be going though. Been there done that, and do not want to do it ever again. Blessings and Hugs

To make it worse, when the military showed up at the mother's house to tell her that her son had died, she asked "Which one? I have two sons there." They couldn't tell her for five hours. I can't even imagine the grief and horror of it all.

Sorry to hear about his nephew. My friend's son got shot in the chest by a snipper and thank god he had his bullet proof vest on. It caught the bullet and he suffered chest bruses only. Was he in the army? Chris just went over to Iraq at the end of March. Pattie

God was watching over your son's friend!! I'm so glad he was wearing his bullet-proof vest! Yes, Jordan was in the army. He went over April 7th. He was actually upset when his brother got to Iraq before he did. He felt very strongly about the cause. He was a brave, take-action kind of kid.
