I believe my NUT says not to worry about carbs. Just make sure you get enough protein. Other physicians and NUTS guidelines were 100 per day (actual, not net.) I'm sure a lot of people would think that is too high. I don't see a lot of poeple at OH speak about carbs very often, but the bariatriceating.com folks seem to minimize carbs. I've seen a lot of people say below 50. I find that I need carbs before a workout.

I've always liked the book Life After Gastric Bypass written by Katrina Segrave. She is a dietitian. She recommends 30-33% carbs, 33-34% fat, and 34-36% protein. She said to aim for 20-30 grams of carbs per meal. If you eat a 300 calorie meal that equates to 25g carb, 11g fat, and 26g protein.
I can lose weight quickly by restricting carbs to less than 20 per day but as soon as I stop counting carbs it comes right back on. So this time I'm trying to be more balanced in my approach. Moderation and balance are NOT my strengths but I'm working on it.
