Been MIA
Okay, I've been MIA for a while. Things have really been nuts in my life. To start, I was laid-off from a job I had been with almost 10 years. We had a cut of all IT support across North America, so it wasn't anything personal or performance driven; just a business decision.
The good thing is, I landed on my feet with what seems to be a great place. It's a family-owned business that's been in operation for over 80 years. I was a little leary at first, but everything just seemed to fall into place; I couldn't ignore the path that was opening before me.
So, things are settling down now. This is my 4th week at the new place and while it's still the honeymoon phase, it seems to be going well.
As for m weightloss, I finally hit -80 lbs., and started buying 16's -- a far cry from my 26's back in November. Sometimes still I get frustrated because I seem to lose like 8 - 10 lbs then I just sit in the same place for almost 6 weeks. The good thing is I'm measuring, so I know that even if the pounds are not dropping my body is changing. I have to really work to keep that in the forefront of my mind.
I've been catching up on all of you and you look fabulous! Everyone sounds like they are doing well and I'm really proud of all of you! Britt keep up those workouts girl, and I'll be recruiting you as a partner for my next tri! Shawn, good luck withe business!
As for my Triathlon, it's been post-poned. I'm contemplating doing the next Danskinin Tri NJ (that's where my family lives). I really couldn't continue the expenses associated with the tri given that I was going to be unemployed, so I got off-track with my training. Although I'm proud to say I can actually run a mile in under 15 minutes! I haven't done that since High School. I've also taken my road bike out, and am averaging 15 to 16 mph. Not lightening speed, but when I rode my bike at 300 lbs., I could only averate 11 to 12 mph.
I'm late for my 6 month follow-up with my surgeon, but I expect to see him in the next couple weeks as I just had my blood drawn on Tuesday.
Anyway I look forward to staying to connected. If any of you are going to the OH Conference in Austin, TX, let me know -- I"ll be there!
Take Care,
Donna
Good to see you back Donna... Thanks for thinking of me...
Sounds like you are doing great with all that i****ting you. I know so well about those darn stalls, then losing a bunch... I think I would rather have a steady loss.... I notice my stalls seem to hit right around that time of the month, then a week before I drop some weight... then I stall again.... back and forth... but at least over all the scale is moving down for all of us.... I have been bad about measuring... I need to do that... I am good about taking monthly pictures at least though....
That is so great that you can run a mile in 15 minutes.. I doubt I could do that... Not even close... You have accomplished so much and should be very proud of yourself... Keep up the great work!!!! and keep us posted on how things are going... Good luck with your new job....

Glad to see you Donna. I hope your unexpected job change turns out to be a bigger blessing than you can ever imagine! It's funny how that works out that way sometimes. I've been wishing for a job change myself this week!
I'm impressed with you and those Triathlons! Sheesh. Makes me feel lazy!
