Need tips for new foods.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful tips! Corinna, I agree, it is hard to believe that my surgeon doesn't want his patients using protein supplements. It is hard to believe there are so many differences with Docs who performed the same operation. I have to admit that I normally drink at least 1 protein drink per day anyway, sometimes 2 or 3...shhhh don't tell Dr. Enochs! But it is the only way that I can get enough protein daily. Plus when I try to only eat my protein, I don't get enough calories and I don't lose anything. I found that out the hard way with stalling for 4-5 weeks at a time. I don't really talk to a NUT. I had a consult with one before surgery and she gave me tips but we haven't seen each other since. I guess I could call her if I needed to. I ordered the sample pack of goodies Wanda recommended last week and am waiting impatiently to try this cereal everyone is raving about. I, too, have not had cereal in FOREVER...at least it seems anyway. Will check into the mice milk too. Wanda always has good product tips! Britt, I have some of the Bumblebee tuna packs in the cabinet that I had forgotten about. I know what lunch is tomorrow! Linda, that website was really helpful. It is full of good info. Deb, funny you should mention turkey jerky. My husband has been making the stuff for years and even sells it to friends and relatives. Everyone swears it is the best they have ever tasted. We have even thought about trying to market the stuff but regulations are very strick for meat products. It is very high protein and low fat but I am concerned about the sodium a bit. Next time he makes it I will get him to use lower sodium soy sauce and see how that goes. I haven't tried it since surgery because I was concerned about possibly swallowing it before it was chewed well. I think I am ready to give it a try again. Thanks again everyone.
