Need tips for new foods.
Ok, I am sooooo burnt out on meat. I need some tips for something different that still gives me my protein. I am sick to death of deli turkey, chicken breast and pork chops. I think if I never saw any of the above again, I would be perfectly happy. What are you eating to get in protein? My surgeon wants me eating all my protein and not drinking it. I simply can not get enough by meat alone. PLEASE

Have you talked to your nutritionist? They should have some ideas. I'm really surprised that your Dr doesn't want you taking protien supplements. Mine is the exact opposite...he'd rather me get the supplements in than food. It seems like it would be so much better to use that than try to stuff yourself just to get in what you need each day. There is NO way I'd be able to get all of my protien from what I eat even if I was eating nothing but meat. Anyway, tips from me for other stuff to try...
Cottage cheese is very high in protien
yogurt
milk
eggs
cheese (mozzarella and ricotta are both low fat but high protien)
edamame beans (11 grams of protien for 1/2 cup)
tofu
Hope that helps a little. I still think you should talk to your nut and see what they say.
Good luck

Are you familiar with Miccelar Milk (Mice Milk for short)? It is a supplement so your doc may not approve but I love that stuff! I use creamy vanilla in my coffee several times a day. I also make SF pudding using the Mice milk instead of regular milk. It makes a great tasting pudding that is packed with protein. Some people even make ice cream from it. There is 40 grams of protein in a container if you drink the whole container. I order mine from the Vitamin Shoppe.
Here is a great link, I hope this helps, I love it. Take care. Just copy and paste to goggle or whatever...smile.

This is a great thread because I think we all need new food ideas. I tend to eat the same things all of the time.
I love turkey jerky it's low fat and low calorie and very filling and takes a long time to eat. Wanda posted a website for natural foods, Kays naturals, I love their cereal with 9 grams of protein and add it to milk you're looking pretty good protein wise. I hadn't had cereal in probably a year so it was very tasty. If you like spicy I ordered the Chipolte Gold chips, yikes I thought I was going to burn my lips and tongue off. I love my cheese sticks. Think out of the box and make a pizza using a taco shell or just use a regular crust. I buy pre-made mini crusts and pile chicken and cheese on it and I can eat half. My son loves our homemade pizza's and I love a quick and easy meal. I also love quesadilla's I like Applebee's the best and can get 3 meals out of one so it's pretty low budget. I like the new Bumble Bee flavored Tuna comes with crackers and you don't have to add mayo. They have a chicken salad also. Hope this helps.
