Alcohol
Hello all
Just curious have any of you tried alcohol since surgery. I haven't as of yet (I might try it in the future ... maybe when i reach goal ;) )and was wondering how'd it go? What did you have.
My NUT and Syurgeon suggest wine - and to try it at home the first time to see how it affects you.
Have a nice Memorial Day weekend
hugs,
Britt
Yes, I have tried it a couple of time. A word of warning, you will get drunk within the first few sips...especially of anything hard. And it's not just a buzz, it's a "I wouldn't get in my car and drive" kind of drunk. The nice part is that it goes away fairly quickly and you can nurse a single drink for a long time and be quite happy. A glass of wine about half way through will get me a healthy buzz but not drunk.
Definately don't try it if you have to drive anywhere or do anything in the next few hours. At home or with a close friend who is driving is the best plan.

I have tried wine, mikes hard lime, mikes hard lemonade light and shmirnoff (sp?**** If I drank too fast then I got a stomach ache, but I generally don't do more than 2 a night (over about 3 hours or more). I did notice one time I wasn't paying attention and I had one entire drink down in about 15 minutes...... OMG!!! Did I ever get stomach pains and the sweats and all... but it passed after a few minutes, but I pay more attention now that is for sure.
Definitely take it slow... I know the mike's hard lemonade light (which is new), has less sugar in it than the regular, but it does have some carbonation so be careful with that. And definitely try it out at home first. Hmmmm.. making me want to go to my box of wine for a drink, but I think I will get a bottle of water instead and then head to bed.... Good Luck!!!
