Hi I just had my 6-month check up and was told to take the following. 2-multivitamins a day, 1000-1200mg Calcium Citrate with Vitamin D a day, Vit B12 500mcg sublingual a day, B-Complex with a least 10mg Thiamin-Vit B1 a day. What brand do you take or suggest I take. Thanks, Pattie

I use Centrum chewables and actually don't mind the flavor. Plus it's got everything you need including iron. For the rest I just get kind of random brands at my super supplements store where everything is cheaper. Something that my surgeon told me is that you have to split up the calcium to twice a day. Your body can't absorb more than 500 mg at a time...just make sure you don't take it at the same time as you take iron because they each make the other not absorb. For the B complex I use a powdered kind that I just put in a little juice...it just seems like it will absorb better if I'm not trying to swallow pills. It tastes beyond gross but it's only for a second. I'd just try out different kinds. Some people swear by stuff I can't stand and visa versa so it's a totally personal journey to figure out what you can stomach on a daily basis. Good luck Corinna Q

I take the Centrum chewables and I don't mind them a bit. I take the Calcium Citrate pills I have no problems swallowing pills. I take the Rexall brand B-12 that I get at Wal-mart. I have to take an iron pill which I get at our pharmacy called Vitron-C which I can take the same time as Calcium. Shop around and get the best deal. Deb

For my multi-vitamins I take One a Day weight smart (doctor suggested that one). I just cut each one in half before I take them. For my calcium I take Viactive, I know alot of doctors say not to, but that is the one my doctor recommended. Then I take Vitamin A now too (mine was a little low on my last labs). I buy whatever is there, no specific brand. I don't have to take anything else. Sorry I can't help you more. Shawn M.

I take the easy way out and buy the Bariatric Advantage from bariatriceating.com. I know they are expensive but I like the fact that they are specially formulated for our needs. My doctor recomended the Bariatric Advantage brand and even sells them in his office. (Of course maybe that's why he recommends them?!)
