Hello All, I will be 6mnths post op on the 7th of May...I have lost 80 pnds as of 4mths...I have not lost any weight in the past 2 mnths. I am able to eat more and the wrong stuff. I know this all mind control and I seem to have lost my control. I don't want to be huge again, but I am not doing the right thing. Any suggestions???????? Thank you, Nicole Scared I am going to lose this battle.

Hi Nicole, first your daughter are beautiful!!!! I love their names too Now onto you! you have had a wonderful weight loss so far 80 pounds is an amazing amount of weight to lose in 6 months. BE PROUD!!! You mentioned in your profile that YOUR DAUGHTERS are one of the reasons that you decided to make a change to become healthier. You know that you are eatting too much and the wrong things ... so you know "why" you aren't losing. Do not beat your self up ... tomorrow is a NEW day and you CAN make the right choices. Talk with your surgeon and NUT ...Make a plan and get back on track. Do you attend any support groups? Do you have a support system in place? If you don't I'd be happy to help you via email. "not planning to succeed is planning to fail" YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! we are here for you! Hugs, Britt

Britt, Thank you so much. I do attend one support group a month and I guess my biggest support system is my 5 yr old daughter and my mother. My daugther Becca (5) gave me a mothers day card yesterday that she made in her Daisy's (Girl Scouts) meeting, she taped gum and candy to the outside and a "glazed something" on the inside...she informed me that she will eat "that" since it is too sweet for me. I think my major hang up right now is that I can tolerate stuff I really wish I couldn't...but I have heard in support that most at 6 mnths have lost 100pnds +, so I feel like I am failing. I guess what I should look at is that I have lost half the weight I want to lose. 80 down 80 to go... Nicole

Hey Nicole, You are sooooooo welcome!!!! I can tolerate things too! I don't "think" I dump ...early post op - i mistakely drank something with 26 grams of sugar... So I know what you mean -in a way wishing that some things gave you problems I have lost 74 so far. JUST THINK YOU ARE 1/2 way there! hang in there - make a plan and put it to action!!!! sooooo cute about the card becca made for you! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! keep in touch, Britt

Hi Nicole, Britt is right - when you look at the overall battle.. 80 lbs in 6 months is a LOT of weight... and I suspect many of us (I know I am) are right in that range with you.. I think we hear it all the time, but going back to basics and using our "tool" the way we are supposed to are really the best chance any of us have to succeed in the long run. Hugs, Marilyn

I hear you...I'm also afraid that I will regain weight! I think most of us have that fear because that's all we've ever known--lose and gain, lose and gain. But we have never had a pouch before! Just continue to work it. Keep a positive attitude and an active lifestyle and you will increase your chances.

I feel the same way as you. I had my surgery 11/14/06 and am down 106. I can eat way more than I would like and most foods don't bother me. I wish I dumped from sugar but only do if there is a lot of sugar Darn. I have slowed down my weight loss but I am averaging about 2 pounds a week. I am with you in being scared that I'm going to loose this battle. I'm finding life gets in the way, my car broke down so my husband had to take it into the shop so if they can't fix it today I have to miss Aqua jogging because my son had baseball practice and I have a support group meeting tonight that I really don't want to miss I need it. I think because it has always been our pattern in the past that I'm afraid I'm going to revert back to it and it does scare me. My suggestions are really paying attention to using all your tools and add some more exercise. If you want to send me a message I will be glad to answer you back. We can do this. Deb
