Ok.... Sorry to be gross...but I'm wondering how often you all have one? & if your not regular what do you take to fix that? I will be seeing my DR at the end of the month & will ask him, but wanted to ask ya'all first. I am lucky to have one once a week.

Before surgery I was lucky to go 2 - 3 times a week.... Now I am pretty regular and I go every day. There are the rare days that I skip, but generally it is every morning. I make sure to get my water, my protien and at least a little extra fiber in... Seems to be working for me. I don't think once a weeks is really that healthy, I would defintely bring it up at your next appointment. Good Luck.. Shawn M.

I have the same issue. Before my surgery I was always regularly once a day. Ever since my surgery I go usually at least a week,. and then I take some laxatives to bring a movement on. I've already brought this to my doctor's attention and his professional advice was to tell me to drink prune juice so I dump, and that should get me going. That was only one of the many genuis ideas he had. When I told him I don't want to dump every time I need to have a BM he told me to take a daily colace stool softner. Unfortunately those are the only pills that get stuck when i take them and cause severe pain and I have to then vomit them back up. So then he told me to take dulcolax which works fine. I take it if I haven't gone a week and that generally makes me go. He said I could take one a day too to keep things more regular, which I've started to do recently. I still don't go every day though, more like every 4 or 5 days even on the 1 dulcolax a day regimen. I get all my water in and protein and fiber out the wazzoo but it doesn't seem to make much difference with me.

I was having issues with this...but adding flax seed oily daily, as well as adding Benefiber powder to my 2-3x daily protein drinks has helped a LOT. I go daily or at worst every other day now. I stay at max 35-40g of net carbs a day and don't eat much 'real' fiber so I feel the Benefiber has really helped me.

I'm just the opposite. I used to be every other day. Now I'm at least once a day, or sometimes up to 3 times a day.

I have always had irregularity of either one extreme or the other. Now it seems to be the other. (constipation) I take an herbal supplement called Cascara Segrada when I need it. I take 2 capsules at night if I haven't gone that day. The next day I am back on track. Valorie

Julie, I take stool softeners daily since shortly after surgery. I just buy the Sam's Club brand. The pills are soft gel little football looking things! CeCe

No matter how much fiber I try to add I can't go without milk of mag. I even tried Miralax with no results. I think I would lose more steadily if I could get regular.
