Called my Surgeon's office
Well, I called the office this morning and they said the pain I am having is probably nothing to worry about. They think it is just scar tissue forming and that I am feeling it pull. I have my 6 month check up on the 16th though and they said that they would take a look at it then. Hopefully that is all it is, but I just know it hurts really bad when I bend over or do anything strenous. It brought me to tears tonihgt when I took my girls to ballet. I bent over to pick up my daughters shoes and about doubled over in pain and I started tearing up it hurt so bad.
I just hope this passes and it is nothing to worry about. From what I hear if I had a hernia I would see a buldge when I do anything strenuous and I don't, so I think I am safe in that area, but we will see....

Shawn,
If you are in that much pain, I'm not sure and I don't think you are either. If it continues to hurt like that, I think you should call back and insist on being seen. There are times when I bend over and feel pressure and even feel a little nausea for a second but nothing like what you describe. I can't seem to stand to have any pressure in the middle of my breastbone. I tried to wear one of those spandex body suits the other day and had to take it off. I just felt too much pressure there but that sounds very different from what you are describing. I think you need to talk directly to your surgeon or get to his office.

If it continues or gets worse over the next couple of days I will definitely call back or just go to the local ER. My surgeon doesn't have privleges at the ER I would go to, but that is OK, the hospital I would go to is a good hospital too and does deal with bariatric patients as well. They just weren't approved by my insurance to do the surgery
We will see how I am the next couple of days, I am just being really careful not to bend over really far or do anything strenuous. It doesn't seem to take much though.
I will be sure to keep the board posted when I find out more though.

Shawn,
I hope you ae feeling better soon -
If I were in that much pain still on Monday - I'd call your surgeon and tell him you are concerned and that you want to be seen now. If it is bringing tears to your eyes - that is your body telling you "get this checked out"
(((hugs)))
keep us posted,
Britt
Thanks Britt! It does seem to be a bit worse today. I being so careful not to bend too far over or lift anything heavy. I think tomorrow I may call my regular doctor and see about getting in and having her look at me. I hate to make that one hour drive each way, if it is nothing, but my family doctor is only 5 minutes away. I will call tomorrow morning and have her look at me. Better to be safe than sorry.
I will let you know what I find out. My guess is that she will tell me to contact my surgeon and be seen by him, but we shall see.
