Two store owners (a married couple) that I have dealt with for years did not recognize me today! It was so funny. Neither of them could tell it was me. I had to keep talking to them until they recognized my voice enough to believe it was me. I don't think that I changed that much but I guess they would disagree!

Isn't that funny. I don't think I look that different (although sometimes I catch sight of myself in the mirror and think, "who is that?") but I had someone I know fairly well see me the other day who totally didn't recognize me (he hasn't seen me since surgery). I went up to talk to him and then left about a 1/2 hour later he calls me over as I walk by and says "I had no idea that was you. I didn't recognize you at all" His friend had to tell him who I was. My yard guy the other day did the same thing. It wasn't until he saw me for the third time that he realized who I was. Cracks me up. Corinna Q

I'm glad someone else is experiencing this same thing!! Twice in the past two weeks, I have had two very dear friends I had not seen in a while not recognize me!! They had not seen me since before my surgery and had no idea that I had had the surgery. A major part of my change is that I now have to wear a wig to cover the extreme hair loss on the front part of my head. But the wig is almost identical to the hairstyle I had before. One of these dear friends had no idea who I was when she was talking to me!! She said I looked familiar but didn't know who I was!! Ouch!! Then after she found out who I was, she couldn't stop staring at me!!! It kinda made me uncomfortable. But now I know the warning signs: if you have someone you know who acts very different towards you, first ask if they recognize who you are. In both of my cases, the persons did not recognize me at all. Never thought this would happen!! Deidrah 312/206/150

Isn't it funny that we can't see what others do? I have had a couple of similar experiences, the funniest being when my Nephew's wife of 5 years came up to me at a family party and introduced herself! I thought it was pretty funny, she was mortified!' I also show dogs, and several people have called to ask me who was showing my dogs! And it was me! Wish I could see myself the way they do, I think we have a hard time not seeing the "fat" body that has looked at us for so long. Even though I am in a size 8, I feel fat. Does it ever sink in???
