Coincidence?

I stopped losing my hair right after I started taking the Coromega (fish oil packets.) It may be just a coincidence. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I'm almost 5 months out (on the 6th -same surgery date as Brit) and I've been taking Coromega from the very beginning. I'm a slow loser (60 pounds) but I haven't lost any hair yet so there may be something to that! I rarely post but had to put my 2 cents in here! I thought I wasn't losing hair because of my slow weight loss. CeCe

I bought mine at the Vitamin Shoppe but I also saw them at a health food store the other day. I think they were around $15 for a box of 28. The normal dosage is one per day but I take two per day.

I got mine online at wholesalesupplementstore.com. They were $21.96 for 90. I don't think the shipping added too much to the total. I've ordered several times and had no problem with the website.

My 2 cents... While the fish oil is probably a good addition to your diet I doubt it has anything to do with stopping the hair loss. The facts are as follows... About 30% of people who have ANY major surgery will loose approximately half of their hair starting two to three months after surgery. The hair we are loosing now all died at the time of our surgeries in November. The natural hair cycle has hair that has died resting on your head for two to three months before it falls out...it's just that our bodies killed off a lot more hair than normal back in November because it wanted to focus on healing, not maintaining hair folicles (I don't think I spelled that right). At five to six months after surgery we will stop loosing hair and most of the time will resume our normal hair growth cycle. At this point it has very little to do with our nutrition and everything to do with the trauma we put our bodies through 5 months ago. I'm not saying nutrition has nothing to do with it and if we don't maintain our vitamin/protien supplements our bodies won't maintain a normal hair growth cycle. But for now there is very little we can do about hair loss that in essence happened 5 months ago. Anyway, that's great that your hair loss has stopped!!! I'm totally jealous Corinna Q
