Next month I am going to Las Vegas for a conference (work related.) My husband can't go so I am taking my 32 year-old daughter. She is a stay at home mom with 3 special needs kids. They have no money and she never goes anywhere. I plan to spoil her rotten. We are staying at the Wynn--the most glamorous hotel on the strip. I want to take her up in a hot air balloon. Other than that I don't know what else would be memorable. Any ideas?
That is AWESOME Wanda --- I am sure your daughter is going to be grining from ear to ear. You are a great Mommy taking care of your daughter (another great Mommy). What a great treat ! I have no sugestions but I hope you both have a WONDERFUL trip together
Every Mommy needs a liitle "me time" every so often. Have fun
hugs,
Britt
Wanda,
The Wynn is gorgeous!!!! I've never stayed there personally but a friend did last time we were there and his room was amazing! I love Vegas and we go all the time even though we are totally not gamblers. There is so much to do and see there.
I highly recommend catching one of the Cirque de soleil shows. They are AWESOME! I have been to most of them in Vegas and I think I'd have to say my favorite is "O" at the Bellagio. But get your tickets now because they often sell out. Also the Blue Man group is fun to see or Danny Ganz. Again, get your tickets now. Other than that make sure you hit the Forum shops at Ceasar's Palace and the canal shops at the Venetian. Also make sure you are able to catch one of the fountain shows at The Bellagio. They are free and happen every 30 minutes I believe. Then there is the pirate's show (also free) at Treasure Island and the volcano show at The Mirage. I don't know the times on those...I think Treasure Island is only two or three times a night (get there early it gets crowded). The Mirage is all the time so it's easy to catch. These are all things you watch from the sidewalk.
Although recommending food places is silly for us post op types the best breakfast buffet is at Paris.
If you like rollercoasters try New York New York and the Stratosphere. They are apparently pretty awesome (I'm not a rollercoaster type but my friends love them).
And just wander through the huge hotels/casinos they all have neat stores and amazing themed decorations/architecture.
Make sure you bring some seriously comfortable walking shoes though!!!! You'll need them!
And make use of the monorail. It really gets you from one end of the strip to the other quickly and easily (and is air conditioned )
Hope that helps and have a GREAT time!

Corinna, thanks for the tips! I've got my daughter busy putting together an itinerary for us. Where do we catch the monorail? Is that the same thing as the Strateshpere? I told her that you recommend the Blue Man group and "O" to her. She chose the Blue Man group. She always wanted to see them but didn't think that she ever would. Thanks again, I appreciate your suggestions.
The Stratosphere is the tall Space Needle looking hotel/casino at the south end of the strip. The monorail has stops all up and down the strip. It's end points are the MGM Grand at one end and the Sahara at the other. It stops at The Hilton, The convention center, Flamingo, Harrah's in between the two. Pretty much you can walk to anything from each of the stops. If you are on the middle of strip it's easier to just walk but if you are trying to go from one end to the other or even from the middle up to MGM it's quicker to take the monorail. Anyway, here is the web site for the monorail. http://www.lvmonorail.com/
