Loosing Too Fast???
So I am getting a little worried now with my progress, and I don't want for all of you to think that I am crazy, but I feel things are going a little bit to quick right now. I am almost 4 months out (on 3/6 it will be exactly 4 months) and I am already down 170 pounds. It seems that for the last 2 months I drop at least 6-7 pounds a week. I do eat three healthy meals a day, have a protein shake, take my vitamins, and I do excercise for 1-1 1/2 hours 5-6 times a week.
But I am getting a little freaked out that I may be losing too fast? Could that be possible? A part of me says enjoy it while it lasts because I know the closer that i get to goal the harder it will be, but a part of me also says this can't be healthy or good for your body to lose all of this so quickly?
Thoughts? Concerns? Suggestions?

It does seem like a lot of weight in such a short time. I don't necessarily think it's too much. You started out as a big guy to begin with so you will lose faster...and you are a guy so you will lose faster. It sounds like that you are eating enough to stay healthy since you work out for so long and so often. I would say listen to your body. If you feel good, then everything should be fine. Has your surgeon seen you recently? I remember an old Steven King book called "Thinner". You probably shouldn't read it just yet but someday in th future you might like it and remember these days when the weight just kept dropping. I need to find a book that relates to my situation...maybe something called "Stuck Like A Duck in Sand" LOL
I honestly don't know if that is too fast or not... Like Wanda said you did start off a big bigger than some of us and that can cause you to lose fast and you are a man. Plus you are really doing a good job of working out, so that contributes to your incredible success too... If you are truly concerned then I would suggest talking to your surgeon or a nurse at your surgeons office.... As long as they are doing labs and your labs are coming back fine, you are eating what you should and getting in your protein and vitamins, then I would think you should be just fine..... Keep us posted on how you are doing...

Hans,
Are you working out with a personal trainer? I wonder if you are pushing to hard. A personal trainer told me I should work out only every other day. That way the muscle has the ability to recover from the workout or you kinda undo the work you did. I'm sure all trainers have different opinions to that. Look at the biggest loser. Those people work out every day all day long it seems.
You actually can drop weight too fast. It can mess up your electrolyte system, which will cause a heart attack. I would follow what ever direction your doctor gives you. If he/she says you are okay, then i'm sure you are fine. It is absolutely exciting to lose that much, but I can see why you would worry also! I'm very excited for you on that part, but also hoping that it is healthy and okay for you.
