Miranda, Dark urine is a sign of dehydration also. Are you able to drink all your water? I got dry heaves a lot with my stricture, and I was also able to get certain foods like crackers, soup, mash potatoes down. That is why I thought you might have a stricture. I hope you are able to get off work and get to your doctor. It doesn't sound good. Hopefully it is something that can easily be fixed. Heaven knows you've had a tough enough journey already. Please let us know what you find out.

I was drinking all my water until I was so nauseous all the time, whenever I drank it. I had stenosis too at the end of January and had to get dilated, and it just doesn't feel like that. When I had the stenosis, the food would come up just a little after 30 minutes of e stopping eating. I'm dry heaving 2 hours after I finish eating. It doesn't make sense to me. I really do think its the pills I'm taking though. I used to take pre-natal vitamins to make my hair and nails grow more, and when I took them, I got queezy from them. I think I have more vitamins in my system than I can take right now. I have an appointment though with the doctor friday the 9th for my 3 month, and if theres something wrong that happens before that, then i'll definitely call.

Miranda - How long have you worked at your current empoyer? How long did you take for your surgery (Meaning how long were you out). These questions relate to FMLA. If you have worked for your employer for more than 1-year and you have worked more than 1000 hours in the past year, you qualify for FMLA. Under this law you can take your 12 weeks either in a lump sum or under what we call intermitten leave. This is a federal law so it does not matter what state you are in. If your employer has not 'assigned' you to FMLA you need to remind them. What this lovely little law does is protect you from being fired due to a serious medical condition. (Our surgery qualifies us for this privaledge). It is important for you to know, your employer can fire you for not performing your job (meaning you are doing a poor job), but not for being absent due to your medical condition! Most employers do not want to go down this road because a law suit most likely will follow. You will also want to find out whether they have their FMLA policy (company) on a rolling or a calendar year program. I would be happy to guide you through this if your employer is not being helpful! ~Sharon

I started August 21st 2006. I need to work 12 months before I'm eligible for FMLA. I hate it. I'm not performing badly, I actually have outstanding performance. My absences are what are killing me though from going all through this stuff. I don't qualify and I think I should have waited to have surgery now, but hind sight is always 20/20.
