Ok ....so where is EVERYONE in their weightloss?
I started at 259, wearing a size 3x top & 26W pants. 3 months later I am 198 & wearing 1X tops, some XL & size 20 pants
I don't really have a tip, but more of a confession.. I have been drinking with my meals, because my mouth is usually on fire during meals, cuz I like em spicey. Anyway I now realize how much longer I am not hungry when I don't drink with meals, so of course that has helped me (past week)..... Yeah I know thats what they told us, but I'm stubborn & thought a few sips wouldnt hurt, well I'm sure it has hurt my maxium weight loss, these past few months & hopefully will continue to loose.
ok so i feel really bad after reading everyone's posts!!
i m a few days less then 3 mos. post op and have only lost 46lbs since WLS, i lost 23 lbs before WLS so my total wgt loss is 69lbs as of last week...waht am i doing wrong???? i know that i caould exercise more, but i m doing everything that my surgeon told me to do !!! i feel like i m so far behind!!!! please if you have any advice i'd love to hear it!!!!!!!!!! Nikki, I think that you're doing just fine. You have to count the 23 pounds pre-op because your body does! A 69 pound loss is great. You didn't mention if you count your calories or carbs. I know that helps me make good food choices.
I dont really count carbs or calories...i just try to stay away from carbs of any kind....i m a carb addict *stands up* "HI my name is Nikki and I am a carb addict!" *sits down* i really only eat proteins and the occassional carb...how many calories should i be gettiing??? i should ask my nutr. 2day whenever i go for my 3 mo. post-op appt, huh!?! and im gonna add my tip sonce i forgot to do it last post....
TIP: Whenever I get tired of water, I add Hawaiian Punch powder to my water...it is fat, sugar and carb FREE and has only 5 calories per serving (8oz.)...you can find it at you local grocery store in the same isle as the Crystal light drink mixes.

3.5 months out... before surgery I was 253, now am 183 - exactly 70 lbs! (and yes, the lbs we lost leading up to surgery sure do count!!!) I was wearing 20/22 and am now in 14/16.
My tip: When "plain" water is getting boring, I put a packet of Propel powder in my water bottle... I like it so much more than the Crystal Light.

OK...I will be 4 months out on 3/6...I started the process at 444 pounds and I am currently weighing (as of this morning) 274...yep that is down 170 pounds. I was a 5x in shirts and a 56 or 58 in pant sizes, I am now an XL and a 40 - 42 in waist. I am being called a freak of nature by my support group, but I knock on wood because I really have had an easy time with the surgery post-op. The emotional and mental changes & challenges are a different story.
My suggestions is excercise, don't snack, make healthy food decision, don't force feed yourself...in other words when you feel full, you can bet your bottom dollar that you are full, and cut sugars out of your diet.
Hi Tabitha and fellow Losers~
I had surgery 11/29/06 and I have lost a total of 104#....I lost 44 prior to surgery on liquid protein diet and 60 since!!!
Tips~try to find the groove that works for you. Make sure you get your protein and water in each day and excercise regularly. Make sure and take your vitamins so you dont feel sluggish. Chew slow and pay attention to what your new tummy is telling you...sometimes it gets frustrating-but also, if something doesnt work one time-it may later, so its ok to try in a couple of weeks or whatever.
Congrats to everyone-GREAT JOB!!
Janet
