Cravings too, while I'm at it
Hi everyone (again),
Would anyone know why I'm cravings sweets so much? Is it a hormonal thing, or could it be something else? Or a lack of will power? It just seems sometimes, that I HAVE to have something sweet! Is there a way I can avoid this? Is there something I can do to help myself stop having these cravings? Any thoughts or ideas would be so appreciated. Thanks!

There is a woman who works in my office that brings in all kinds of candy and snacks. I really struggle when she puts out chocolate or mixed nuts. Just seeing it makes me crave it. So far I haven't tried any but I'm afraid that some day my will power will break. I still crave sweets especially when I'm hormonal. It's a curse! I tired keeping SF fudgcicles at home but I find that I crave them just knowing that they are in the house.

Nuts are a good source of protein and nuts can be very good for you in moderation. But for me it is a trigger food. Before surgery when I was stressed I could eat a whole can of nuts in a day--over 1000 calories and loads of fat. Even now when I'm stressed my thoughts turn to nuts, candy, cookies, chips, etc. I can't stop with a few. AHHHGG! I wish the surgery could have bypassed my mind as well!
Tasha,
I know exactly what you mean. I was craving sweets like crazy so I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies (because I also love to bake) using splenda and splenda blend brown sugar. I used regular chocolate chips. Then made the cookies very small. I ate one a day for two or three days and the rest of them have been sitting on the counter ever since and I don't even care about them.
I know a lot of people don't work that way and even a taste is enough to drive them over the edge but for me just a taste helps me get the craving over with. And honestly even just a bite of something with full sugar makes my stomach turn so while it tastes good in my mouth it doesn't make me crave more once it hits my stomach.
Everyone is different though so just make sure you do something that will work for you...something that will help with the craving but not have you going overboard.
Good Luck
