Scope Update!

So I went for my scope today (in the horrid snow storm that we had). It took me two hours to get there instead of 1 hour, but we made it.... All went well, I do remember it all, but it didn't hurt a bit.... They were checking for a possible stricture or ulcers... WELL!!!! They found BOTH!!!! Yes, I said both... they dialated the stricture to 15 mm and I am now on medications for the ulcers and I have to go back and have another scope done in 2 months... I have not tried to eat yet since my scope, but they told me it should be very different. I did drink a yogurt smoothy and it went down soooooo much easier.... So Happy Valentines day to all, hopefully mine will be good and I can enjoy a nice dinner with hubby now... that would be cool... Thanks for all the concerns and advice.... Shawn M.

Awesome, I am so glad they were able to fix that. I hope the ulcer medication helps and that doesn't get worse. I take nexium. I took it before surgery and doc wanted to leave me on it to prevent an ulcer. Let us know how the eating goes now. I was just in Monday for my 3 month check-up and there was a woman complaining of the same symptoms. Of course, they told her she had to be scoped. How much snow do you guys have. We dont have but about 2 inches but the ice underneath has made it terrible here. All schools are closed. Luckily, I am able to work from home. HUGS Christy

Thanks Christy.... I am not sure what the final total of snow was that we got, but it was heavy and blowing from about 9 pm last night until about 7 am this morning and the roads were horrible... But we safely made it to Flint.. I think we got about 6 inches, but it was below 0 with the wind chill, the salt wasn't working and the snow kept blowing over the roads, so they could not keep up with plowing... Our schools were all closed too today.... I was able to eat some chicken after I made my post and it didn't hurt and it stayed down.... Wooo Hooo..... Shawn M.

((((( Shawn )))) I am so glad that you are home and that they found the issues! Sorry to hear about your ulcers But now that you are dilated and on meds for the ulcers YOU should be feeling great. A friend of mine had a stricture and now feels 100 better. So far so good with the yogurt smoothy - right? Enjoy the rest of your Valentines! Hugs, Britt

Sorry you had to go through that on Valentines day but I'm glad that you have your answers finally.

Thanks Wanda... that was actually my highligt for my day... after I posted how things went my day spriarled out of control with my oldest teenager and we had a huge blow out and I was histarrically crying for a few hours.... ON another note I took my first BATH in a couple of years... I FIT INTO THE TUB!!!!!!! So that made my day and I am doing much better.... Thanks again for your concerns... Shawn M.
