A wow moment I hadn't thought of

So most of the benefits of loosing weight I've thought about in great detail. You know, normal clothing sizes, fitting in restaurant booths, movie theater seats, airplane seats, more energy, walking more with out keeling over etc etc...but one I didn't think about happened just the other day. I was at my massage thearpists getting ready for my massage, I lay down on the table and suddenly realize my arms fit at my sides and don't fall off the edge of the table. I've never been able to leave my arms at my side without using muscle to keep them there, I was always to big for the table. I usually let them hang over the edge so I could be relaxed. It was the coolest thing. Instead of responding to each thread that I've read today I thought I'd hit a few of them here at one time. First of all...congratulations to everyone!!! Whether you've lost 30 pounds to 100 pounds since your surgery it's all a step in the right direction. There have definately been days that I've gotten on the scale and thought...dang it, why haven't I lost more. But then I go to put on clothes and realize I have about 5 things to wear because everything is outrageously (even indecently) huge on me now and then I don't really care what the darn scale said. I've lost 45 since surgery on 11/10 and 75 total. So I'm definately not the fastest looser out there either. To all of you who are having trouble keeping food down I really feel for you!!! I have, thankfully, not had a single episode of vomiting and can't imagine having it every time you eat. So yes, see your Dr's because it can't be normal. As for cheating this is the way I look at it...as long as you're not making yourself sick by eating too much, too fast, or the wrong stuff then you're probably okay. Just make sure you're getting in your daily required stuff first and I think a bite here and there of something that we love isn't necessarily a bad thing. I personally haven't gone the sugar or carbonation route yet but I do eat carbs...I just make sure the protien is first. I'm telling you that if you actually write down what you eat (another plug for www.fitday.com) and see the breakdown of it you'll be amazed at how little you really consume each day, at least that's the case for me. Hope everyone continues having lots of wow moments!! Corinna Q

Congrats Corinna..... I would never have thought of that one eithere... I Have only gotten a massage once, but I remember my arms falling off and having to have the hang there. What a great feeling that must be. It is horrible not even wanting to eat for fear of it coming back up, but I hope that once I see my doctor for the scope I will get some answers. It is so hard to only eat 2 or 3 bites and be done, and be in pain. I want to cry every time I have to eat, but the peanut butter and yogurt gets me through. Only a little over 2 weeks and then I will have some answers hopefully. I love fitday... I did use it all the time... although every since I moved to solid foods it is hard to, since not much stays down, I don't know how to count it. I just make sure to count what does stay down. You are right about counting things and then realizing how little we really do consume. Well, anyway Congrats again... you are doing a great job, keep up the good work!!!! Shawn M.

Hi Shawn, I was reading your reply in Corinna's thread and my heart just went out to you! If only I could tell you HOW MUCH your life will change when you have that scope done! I can't believe the food I can eat now -- all legal stuff on my diet lists, that is!!! Boiled shrimp, baked fish, tuna, white beans, the list goes on and on! Keep your chin up and just remember that it WILL get better after that scope! You will be amazed. Please let us know what the outcome is! Deidrah

Thanks Deidrah.... I hope that they can fix whatever is going on... I almost hope it is a stricture, because if nothing is wrong then I have to continue to suffer with this... OH well... we will find out in a couple of weeks... in the mean time, it is soft foods still.... Shawn M.
