Does anyone know any transracial families? We are a family by the miracle of adoption. My son is almost 4 (March 1st). He is african american and we are caucasion. He is starting to ask some questions and I was hoping to find someone to chat with about this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Love to all. Christy

Thanks Wanda. Honestly, we are the lucky one's! It was a plan of God. We wanted a family and were having issues having one by natural means and along came Brian by means that can not be described other than the work of God. I was actually pregnant once but it turned out to be ectopic, I thought the whole situation would kill me emotionally. That baby was due March 1st 2003, same day as Brian was born. We did go back and try infertility treatments after the ectopic. In March 2003, we had our final treatment, it turned out there was not even an egg it was a cyst. I was devasated and finally had the courage to say I have had enough, I am stopping the infertility treatments and pursuing adoption. Later we would find out that this was the same time that Brian's birthmother was relinquishing her rights. Four months later our home study was done and we were soon to have our little baby. In the mean time we had lost over half of our adoption budget to a scam and I really thought it was over that we were destined not to have children. Before connecting with the person who scammed us, I had connected with a ministry called Acres of Hope. The day we found out we lost our money in the scam. Acres of Hope called and said congratulations Mom and Dad, there is a 4 1/2 month old little boy waiting for you. It was a miracle. The Christian agency wasn't concerned about money, they knew we had lost some in a scam. They had prayed and knew we were the family for Brian. The attorney also worked with us on money. The attorney started the work without ever meeting us or receiving any money. He did it just on our word. I have never known an attorney to act like this. The whole situation was a true miracle of God.

Actually also a transracial family created through adoption. We have two girls and a boy. And actually our son was a surprise . He was biologically related to our second daughter so they called us to see if we wanted him...and of course we did. Now we are a family of five. PM me and we can talk...my children are 5,3,1...
