Should I Feel Bad?

Well Ladies and Gentlemen I am a fairly new poster and have been reading most of the boards for a while, but I had been a little discouraged to post because of my recent success, which does sound ridiculous but I truly deep down didn't want to put anyone else down or make them feel as they were not doing as well since I know that it is a must for all us to compare ourselves to each other. But I came to the realizationg that first off we are all very different, we all started our journeys at different starting points, and most importantly (here comes my selfish rant) I have worked extremely hard to be successful and that merits some rewards and self praise. Long story short I have never felt better, I currently weigh 308 pounds and I was weighing 443 on 10/1 and 413 on my surgery date of 11/6, so I have lost a total of 134 pounds post-op and 105 in a little over 2 months and a half. I have had no problems of dumping or throwing up, but I have had a couple of instance where I did eat a little too much and there was a lot of discomfort which made me learn my lesson rather quickly. My only complaint/complication has been the constipation issue, but I have learned to deal with it. I am working out 5-6 times a week (focusing more on cardio), making very healthy choices during meal time, and learning how to adapt to this new lifestyle. I want to thank all of you for your support and help that you provide via the message board.

First and foremost CONGRATULATIONS on the decision to save your own life!!!! Bravo! You are doing fantastic and don't you dare feel bad for sharing your story ever ever ever! Especially on a Michigan Board because we are absolutely the most sweetest people around! I can only speak for myself and I can assure you I do not compare myself to anyone else. This is all individual until it comes time for support and praise and then we are all in the same boat but just boarded the darn thing at different times. I am a lap bander so I know that things will move slow for me but you know all that matters is that I stick to the program and workout and just plain get healthly. Whew I feel better now. Congratulations and keep up the good work. I am extremely proud of you. Michigan Jackie where its cold but our hearts are very warm.

Hans, we celebrate your success! Never hesitate to share your success or your troubles. One thing about the members on this board, we all seem to want the best for each other. I've never heard of anyone losing as quickly as you have! Congratulations!
